Leading up to the game, Jones felt the need to walk back a comment he made on McCarthy's future, when he said, "We'll see how each game goes in the playoffs."
After the game, Jones told reporters that the Cowboys' loss was one of the biggest surprises he'd ever experienced in football and that the blowout left him “floored.” He added "This (loss) seems like the most painful. … This is beyond my comprehension.”
He ain't keepin' that guy, not with THAT kind of loss at home. And he shouldn't. The team looked unprepared and overwhelmed, AT HOME, AS THE #2 SEED. McCarthy's offense started the game like they hadn't watched any tape on the Packers all week. McCarthy tried to force-feed the running game to start the game when the Cowboys hadn't had a consistent running game ALL SEASON. So in a playoff game, let's not center the offensive plan around the QB who was in the discussion for MVP, and who led the league in TDs....and instead focus on inconsistent Pollard, the mediocre run-blocking offensive line, and non-blocking TEs - a line often blown backward on 1st down runs?????
BYE McCarthy!
