Wanted him gone at the end of last year when he still had value. Didn't eat crow this season. When was his last qb pressure week 3?

Don't want to see him wear a star next season, along with a lot of those core players.

Amen to that. Wish would would have made a business decision and got rid of him last year. Now we are stuck with a guy who still thinks he is good and he is only a shell of his former self. Same goes for the other vets on this team. Just killing this team.

No team is going to pay him $14 million. I'll be shocked if he gets 7-8 million next year. If anything he'll get an incentive laden offer given his recent injuries.

We will keep him here, I guarantee that.

He will make you all eat crow this time next year. For real, whats with all the hate on him. Maybe it would be better if the guy just stood on the sidelines like so many of our others do when they get hamstring, quad and other injuries. The guy played hurt and you could see that. He got off to a good start again this year. You don't lose a step during a season, he got hurt. Lay off all the cut Ware nonsense and see what the guy does healthy next year.

Ware is that you?

Yeah, because obviously the only move was to cut a guy who finished tied for 9th in the NFL in sacks despite limited snaps because of nagging injuries. What was Jerry thinking by not cutting him immediately after the season???

 People need to relax. Demarcus doesn't have double digit sacks for the 1st time since his rookie year and he's all of a sudden trash that needs to be kicked to the curb? Asking for a reworked contract is 1 thing, but unless your plan is a full on rebuild I don't see how you can logically think outright cutting Demarcus Ware is going to help this team.

I don't think JPP did all that great this year either and I know that dude is a beast when healthy. Maybe Ware is in that boat, maybe he isn't. I think he will take less money and stay in Dallas....

He'll take a restructure. He already stated that. He's going to force JJ to make a bold move and I want to see if JJ pulls the plug on him.

Its not just about the sacks. He is declining and it's no surprise it's due to injuries. People on here (not saying you)think Romo's contract is a gamble because of a hernia, yet Ware has one as well and the opportunity to save $ is there and a business decision has to be made. The worst thing we can do is restructure Ware and push money into future years. That's money we need for Tyron and Dez, for starters.

The real problem with Ware are those neck stingers. That isn't a problem that is going to go away unless he stops playing football. We aren't going to be contenders next year so maybe we should try instead to get our cap back in order. As much as I love Ware on my team, I think the team needs to let him walk. Will they? No way. He is part of the secret sauce.

Did I mention the word "Cut" no, I don't think I did. We should have traded him while he still had value, now his value is almost nothing. Ware doesn't do jack squat for this team anymore. This is a what have you done for me lately league, and last I checked, he hasn't done squat. I don't know how many times he runs around the guy blocking him to the outside and ends up 5 yards past the QB. Gosh, get rid of this guy already. All he does is run his mouth on social media.. .talking about he is ready, and today is the day, and this and that. Then doesn't even show up on the field.

I honestly opened this thread thinking it was going to say "that tonight's gonna be a good night". Probably time to quit this and start celebrating New Years.

Some of you need to get a grip. This isn't some pissing match to see who "eats crow." We all lose when this team fails. And nothing good comes from the demise of a Cowboy great. I think we all get that in our own way.

The truth is, these things do not get better as the player ages. I'm not willing to throw DeMarcus out with the garbage, but his situation has to be properly managed by the club. It is unlikely that we see a high-impact player playing sixty snaps a game going forward. Personally, I think he still has some value, but he's no longer an anchor. Football will forever be a young man's game.

My hope is, we get get his deal reworked and his number to something more reasonable, recognizing the player for what he is, and rebuild that unit.

Eating crow isn't bad as long as you have ketchup and some salt and pepper.......although not much chance of eating crow when it comes to stating things about this team.......

Ok well your statement is even more ridiculous if you thought trading demarcus ware was an option.

Appreciate the career and a good, good man. But let's be honest, he made one impact play this season and that was the first play from scrimmage this season when he intercepted Eli. Time to move on if he does not take a Free-like pay cut.

I'm not sure which way to go yet. But will live with what ever happens. Because we have no choice. LOL

I can see and understand the point of releasing him, for the obvious stated reasons that have been posted. Age, injuries last 2 years. and with this teams track record of injuries, can't say they will be healthy next season. Contract and salary cap reasons too. Get younger, more long term, healthier players. How many players can we get buy saving his 12.5 million.
Release him, let him see what kind of $$$ he can get. Try to sign him back if possible. Same with Hatcher, let him test the water.

I can also see a restructured contract, keep him here, as I do not think he is done as an effective player. As someone said, fans will turn on players. If people on this forum had their way, their would be 53 new players next year, then they will complain how they suck, but hey, they are rebuilding. 5 to 6 years instead of waiting one more year with Garrett [but hope goes with next year too].
but they are rebuilding...

As much as I hate to hear all this talk..

..Jerrah the owner..

..seconded by Jerrah the GM..

..signed off on this insanity.

I would have thought Jones would have learned with Aikman and Deion during the Campo era.

Guess not.

9th in the nfl in sacks? Pretty sure that isn't close to being right.
