I think Claiborne needs to play better. I was glad he did not get down on himself and continued to play coming up with a big int. However Claiborne himself said he sucked in that game and the int does not erase his overall play. Last week he did a much better job this past game he didn't if Claiborne expects to hold down this job he needs to get his act together and quickly. With the Saints in town he will get a lot of opportunities to make plays it is on him to get it done.

His play is uneven. We're fortunate that we've got a better cover CB coming back in Scandrick, and we've got the luxury of limiting Claiborne's snaps. We've also got players behind him we can play will who aren't significant liabilities.

The bigger issue I have with Claiborne was that he was pretty obviously targeted this week, and he didn't meet the challenge. It's going to happen again next week, so he'd better be prepared for it.

I agree. If I'm Claiborne I'm hoping they will come after me after all the only way to change what has happened is by going out and making plays. With NO coming in I expect to see a lot of opportunities and chances are a lot of nickel defense.

Top 5 pick, supposedly the best Player in the Defensive Draft.....my apologies Claiborne, for being the BUST of the Decade across all of the NFL.

Austin Davis said the same thing in his post game presser, btw. "Their CB made a great play."

Side note, I like that guy. If I'm STL, he gets to keep playing and, hopefully, develop and prove himself. His post game demeanor was as impressive as his play Sunday.

Is only his 3rd season and hasn't had a preseason yet. He won't be all-pro but isn't a scrub either.

The way he tracked the ball down was amazing, I for one have supported Mo. He has made plays before but what people fail to think about is maybe with better front 7 play secondary will be better. Look at Carter's pick 6, we brought pressure and Davis thew the pick. Claiborne will play decent this season, he does have a swagger about him this season including some in training camp

Claiborne was not doing so good in this game and I notice some of us was giving him crap the whole game. Right when we need a turnover Claiborne give us it in the form of a pick. Let all give props to him.

He leads all NFL QBs (with over 50 attempts) in completion percentage at %72.3.

Mighty impressive. In general he didn't look like a 2nd year UDFA QB to me -- he looked pretty darn good.

They have a good history with these UDFA QBs down there in St. Louis ya know?

He was a consensus top 10 pick. Every scout in the nation had him ranked as the best DB in the draft, plus he had a solid pedigree coming out of LSU going against SEC caliber competition every Saturday.

I still like the pick at the time, no one knew he'd struggle this much. Hindsight is 20/20 and ya never know, the light switch may come on sometime this year and he may turn into an all-pro caliber guy. He has all the physical tools.

I think where a lot of teams missed was with his wonderlic, he got something ridiculously low like a 6 - so the speed of the NFL and the complexities of the NFL game may have been too much for him.

I'm not going to label him a bust yet, he still has 13 games left to turn it around. After next year though it may be time to cut our losses, and if we can keep him around for cheap - that might be worth it, considering we invested so much in him. Would hate to see him go somewhere else and turn into a stud.

Besides, on this defense its tough to really evaluate a DB with no real pass rush. He could go to Seattle or Denver and turn into a shut down guy, supporting cast is huge in this game.

Who knows, we don't, the scouts don't - I'd just like to at least wait until this year is over before we give up on him.

Crazy that you can have a guy like that in camp, all camp, evaluate him, let him go in cut downs, bring him back when Bradford gets hurt, and have him play that well. If that doesn't tell you that scouting and sourcing talent in the NFL is more of a crap-shoot than people want to admit, I don't know what does.

He was abused on the long TD. That's going to happen to every DB at times.

He had good position on the other long reception. The WR made a great play, so I credit the WR as much as I'd fault Claiborne.

The other TD was confusing to not just him, but the entire defense. It appeared he got caught up in traffic underneath and just couldn't get back outside. No excuses, that's his responsibility.

My point is that he played better than "just one play" - just not much better.

I have watched that play many times this is what I saw.

Claiborne made one heck of a play, some of you say that the ball was over thrown and I didn't see that. Claiborne tracked that ball down better then the receiver did. Receiver stopped and jumped but had he kept running it would have been closer.

I say Claiborne tracked that ball down cause even when the WR stopped in his route and jumped for the ball Claiborne continued running and then went up for the ball.

Great play by Claiborne

That's a good observation. And right on the money.

I'll give him props for getting up and catching the ball. The only problem was that he was beaten on that play too, the quarterback badly overthrew the ball.Out of that, the guy has sucked!

Yeah the pick was a good pick at the time, I guess what I don't understand is the pressure that is put on Mo sometimes. They went at him pretty hard on Sunday, without even really going at Carr at all. Not hard to go after one CB when as a team we can't get a sack to save our lives.

Its a team game, but point blank if we are going to be hard on Mo or any coverage guys on this team for that matter, we also have to look at our lack of pressure up front also cause I'm of the opinion they sucked just as bad as Mo did. Mo was the one on camera when they completed yet another pass on him, wish they would show which guy got stoned in the pass rush more often......ok that will never happen.

I was late with the apology thing. Do I do this or not now?

No.

He caught an obviously overthrown pass which was apparently "an amazing job at tracking the ball and then actually securing it with his two hands! His hands!!!! And then, by all that his holy, he actually held on to it!!! He's amazing!!!!!"

And then he cried and walked out on the team when he lost his job for sucking the rest of the game, and also pretty much his whole 2+ years here.

I think you are good skipping it.
