I think Callahan is HC in waiting

:laugh2: @ the OP.

Bill Cowher for me.

I would serious not watch this team with the Chin at the helm.
I really don't like him at all. Think he is a bad fit and quite frankly not good. Maybe average... Maybe.

Didn't Saban quit on dolphins or players quit on him from jump street?

Chucky would be an interesting fit. Not really high on him for us. But we have wasted almost 20 years already so why not a few more.

Callahan - no.

Yes it will matter, just like it mattered in 92 when the Cowboys switched from the awful Dave Schula as OC to Norv Turner, with pretty much the same OL, minus Erik Williams. Nate, Stepnoski and Tunei, the team that anchored that SB winning team was also around when AIkman got sacked 13 times I believe against one team.

The moment we lost Norv Turner as an OC, the moment we ended up with the likes of a way way past his prime Ernie Zampese and Bruce Coslet. And that is a huge reason our offense started tanking.

Turner didn't make those guys a better OL. And the OL didn't go to crap just because he left. We won a SB with the "way past his prime" Ernie Zampese, so the players must have been pretty good.

if Gruden or Cowher come here

god help us

Yeah cause how bad would a superbowl winning coach be? Gruden would be perfect. He's a master of getting the most out of talent. He would do wonders with Romo and the talent we have on offense. He would be #1 on my meaningless list.

I won't even bother forming a list because Holmgren is the guy.

Callahan is an excellent coordinator. But he's a terrible head coach.

Exactly what Jerry is looking for.

Going by that logic, might as well rehire Switzer.

After Gruden won that SB (a team built by someone else), he went 45-51 overall, 0-2 in the playoffs. His last season in TB (2008), his team needed one win in the last two games against teams with sub .500 records to make the playoffs, and couldn't do it. Doesn't sound like a coach who was getting the most out of his talent. Nobody really noticed, though, because a certain media magnet team was going through a meltdown of their own.

I have family and friends in Tampa, and not that public opinion is necessarily a great measure, but people had pretty much grown tired of his act.

If came here, I think people would be really disappointed with the results.

I suspect we would go with more of a proven commodity if the JG experiment doesn't work out. I do think Garrett is going to be the coach of this team for a while though.

Well then you think he's going to win this year, because if he doesn't he's out.

Give me Nolan - Thurnan - Capers - Chryst

over Chuckie or the chin

and the only reason I hire Holgren is to GM

how about mike holmgren? do any of you want him as the coach? i'm just curious.

Whenever someone tries to make this argument, you know to disregard everything else they are about to say.
