Commence the bet-hedging. If the team we've built that we suspect is going to be pretty good again is actually better than pretty good, it's either going to be because of the new OC wunderkind or because something we've been waiting for all along finally changed.

Because the alternative of accepting that this guy who everyone loves to hate has actually come in and quietly and consistently built what was a really dysfunctional organization into a good NFC team and an actual contender for championships is unthinkable. And yet.....it's pretty obviously what's been happening here since about 2014 on.
