I think the Cowboys, no matter how hard they try to get past it, are at a mental block with regards to Garrett's tenure being over, and are suffering burnout.
I think they will lose again on Thursday night despite being the better team, and that will be the sign to Jerry that this is over and has to end immediately.
Despite other options, look for Kellen Moore to be named interim head coach and then made official after the season ends.
I just don't think the Cowboys can mentally function to play up to potential now that the end is in sight for Garrett.
Just my 2 cents worth.

Jerry made it clear that Garrett won't be fired during the regular season. Either way, I root for the Cowboys to go 10-6, starting tomorrow night. One game at a time. We might as well hope to get on a roll because we have no control over what Jerry does (even when we agree with it).

It could happen. Patience is wearing thin, even with JJ.

While I might agree about a potential collapse, I cannot envision a scenario where Jerry makes a head coaching change at such a late date. He'll suffer it out until the end.

Though I used to believe JJ would never fire Garrett, things have heated up since our last loss. Sources have came out of "no one being in his corner", Irvin said something to JJ about the coaching, no? Aikman essentially called out the front office and coaching. Yelling in the locker room after the Bills game. Rivera being fired is also a small tidbit that could lead Jerry to opening his eyes and finally hitting the fire button. Jerry is also very reactionary, so after all of this, a loss in Chicago could be the final nail, regardless of him finishing the season or not...

Could, but Richard will end up interim HC.

I feel ya there mate, clap has lost this locker room and players weeks ago....many weeks ago!

How many more times can Jerry make excuses for Garrett if the Cowboys gets humiliated on TV in front of a National audience for the 5th or 6th time this season. All 6 losses came in front of an National audience and at the expense of the Cowboys being the laughing stock of the NFL. But, Jerry keeps digging into the bottom of the barrel to find reasons to defend Garrett.

His attachment to Garrett will have him making more excuses if the Cowboys lose to the Bears.

Man, me and I'm damn sure ALL of us on these forums pray your right on that 10-6. I said waaaaaaay back start of the season I thought our record would be just that....but after getting punched in the gut back to back to back to back....well you get the drift.

Nah.. Keep him till the end of the year.

Let the season go. They already didn't care too much about this season by letting him stay another year and it's too late now to try and save the season.

If it gets worse then it's fine.. We'll just improve our draft pick.
