Do you mean 'unless there are enough critical injuries that eventually overcome any reasonable adaptation to succeed' or is just sarcasm? If you put an animal in a habitat that it is not built to succeed in and it is bad enough it can't adapt to it then it will not do well.

injuries did not cause detroit. injuries did not cause green bay. they adapted enough to get leads in those games, poor coaching is why we lost them in epic fashion not injuries. win either game and we're probably still playing today.

Do you think Kiffin and Callaghan was his idea?

Maybe, maybe not. If you listen to his supporters then he had complete input in who was brought in during the offseason. Jerry and he make decisions together. They backtrack when these people don't work out but that is all I heard this offseason...."he and Kiffin are tight." I tell you what decisions he does make...coaching ones that lose games and cost us playoff spots.

he is channeling john madden.

“We’ll have extensive personnel meetings in regards to (the cap),” coach Jason Garrett said. “When you put that together with the financial part of it, the salary cap part of it, we think it’s really important to do the football evaluation thoroughly independent of that. And then you add that as an element. It’s an element that’s alive and well in the National Football League. Money matters in the salary-cap era we’re in right now. But I do believe the football evaluation is primary, and then you add that element into it, and then you make your best decisions for your team in regards to that player and how he fits in your team.”

Nothing but fluff...

What the Hell is going on around here???

Next thing you know, we will all be holding hands saying it's a good idea to keep ware, give him more money, and that it's all injuries to blame.

JG needs to go, he is barely good at anything....this rkg crap? Not buying, 8-8, nonchalant looks and smiles after a defeat? He can take that elsewhere

1. Nobody is going to hold your hand.
2. Ware is going to stay
3. Garrett is going to stay
4. Sadly, youre probably going to stay.

Eventually you should give up on crying about this... Or not. Either way, Im tired of hearing all the crying and just going to join the masses and put you on ignore.

dude, I have no idea. Id like to think not... I dont know how the whole Kiffin thing started. Like many I was initially excited about it after listening to the game plan. Injuries or not there is no way everything should have turned out so badly.

I have my doubts Jason Garrett said any such thing. I do not see the words 'process' or 'stacking' in that bunch of mumbo-jumbo. I find it hard to believe Garrett can utter anything without his goofy telltale signature words.:)

Here is typical Garrett BS: It is a process and we will stack good decision upon good decision and win in all three phases of the game.

Injuries very much contributed to the loss in GB. All you had to do was look at how the defense changed when the MLBs went out.

Detroit was another matter. That holding call on a running play was a colossal mental error. GIving up the game winning touchdown in a minute of play I'd say was a function of the quality of the defense. That's not all be injury-related, but some of it certainly is.

Praising Garrett for saying:

We will look to see how much money we have to spend and get players we already think are awesome accordingly...

Man, comical..

Just don't mention the cap to Stephen Jones. It really steams his clams.

lol- with that said why are the Coaches worried with these non-football questions (i.e. extensive personnel meetings regarding the Salary Cap)

Stupid is as dumb downed does.

Despite what the lynch mob here may believe. I think he knows what hes doing....

Next year he will prove it, or be coaching somewhere else.

I think he knows what he's doing, but JJ won't let him do it.

I do not think there is anything to suggest he is good or bad in the area of talent acquisition. I think he can relate to the scouts, but ultimately he is not going to be the one who exclusively has the GM's ear. Since Jones "listens" to everyone, including disconnected drinking buddies, it is impossible to say he has had a significant impact.

Man, if you didn't nail it right there. How the heck can we know when our owner acts as his own GM and listens to anyone within ear shot of him?

Ultimately it falls on the GM regardless of the driving force behind any personnel decision. He's the guy with the ultimate authority. Every move is made with his blessing. Being a "listener" doesn't absolve you of that responsibility.

As an aside, it'd be nice to have a GM who didn't need to listen so much. Like have an actual clue what he's doing. You're always going to want and need input from your entire staff but a GM with an actual vision for the future is just what the Dr. ordered for the recovery of the Dallas Cowboys. Not one being led by his ear by his underlings.

Because the seven years he has had this offense and then the entire team was not enough to show what he's got.

Garrett has had to live with massive dead-money issues but it has gotten better each year.

2013: ~30M
2014: ~12M
2015: ~5M (estimate)

We're just now starting to really get into the era where Jason is selecting the players he wants.

I think we're in for more rocks ahead, potentially. The more I think about it, the more I think guys like Demarcus Ware won't be around much longer. Garrett's been stuck with Wade-era contracts and dead money for a while. I think we'll get a sense of his mark on this team really this year. Let's see what the draft and off season hold.

I thought read a post a few days ago saying this years offense help carry the worst defense in the league to an 8-8 record. That is pretty amazing if you ask me.

When was the last time you read or heard Garrett say those words?
