I think this team is in worse shape than we think

I'm sure you'll get a countless amount of replies breaking down your every thought, so I'll just give you one. I think Hitchens plays well and at times better than RoMac. I know he's not as big and freakishly athletic, but Ro disappears. At least Hitch plays doe start to finish. I love Lee, but he doesn't have much longer. Maybe we can talk Patrick Willis into coming to Dallas.

I think Hitchens plays better at MLB. He made some great plays against the Jets at that spot

Seems like a prime Rant Zone thread topic
Naw. Pretty much everything he's said is spot on. If I said Witten needs to be demoted to the #2 tight end, everyone would lose their minds because it's Jason Witten; even if his production should dictate such a move.

This is the modern day NFL. Teams are no longer stacked which is why Dallas has been able to hang in most of their games despite having Matt Cassel and Brandon Weeden QB this team. With the way Moore play against a very good NY Jets team, Linehan must pissed that he was overridden by Jones and Garret when they brought in Cassel instead of giving Moore a shot much earlier in the year. I think Matt Moore wins a couple of games that those other backups couldn't get.

Its a razors edge between 12-4 and 4-12 and everything in-between. Teams can no longer dominate and hold on to their players like they used to.

Knee jerking trade? Lets see, se had a vet QB go down so we traded for a vet QB to replace him because Moore had no experience. What so knee jerking about that?

I am referring to benching Brandon Weeden, the guy you had in your system for 2 years as the backup.

Extreme knee jerk. Half of these points are moving goal posts

Feel free to have an actual conversation instead of of zingers and one liners.

I'm amazed that the OP is actually discrediting d law. He's had a great season, Gregory needs to put on weight but looks to be a menace in thr back field already. Hardy is hardy. Crawford has actually had a good year considering he has need surgery for 12 games. Hayden. Yeah can't say anything good about him. I think d liNE is good. Lb I agree with, dB is obviously the main issue here. This team is also ranked 6th against the pass. So who knows what's going on.

I am not discrediting DLaw, but he was invisible for half of the year. There are a lot of good things that he is doing and hopefully, he will continue to improve, but I don't think you can pencil him in as a full time starter at this point.

That is what sells now. Unfortunately that won't be chancing any time soon.

So everything is sunshine and lollipops on a team that can only win 1 game without Romo?

We lost alot of close games this year we would have won with a starting caliber QB

6 losses by a TD or less with Weeden and Cassel QB'ing this team

The Giants have a starting calber QB and lost a lot of close games too. I don't think it's quite as simple as, "We didn't have Romo."

agree and disagree.

I believe we're actually a pretty talented team with decently allocated resources, which is a good reflection of the FO.

in this league you're just not going to have stars at every position... Or even adequate, should-be, starters at every position.

The biggest problem is the offensive playbook. It is just not an NFL caliber playbook and employs a piss-poor philosophy.

And really I'm not too keen on Rod's philosophy against the run, but it works when the offense works.

The offense only works when Romo alters it and then works a miracle.

I personally think we have a talented team. Sure there are a few weaknesses like the safety position but overall we have a lot of talent. We just need a coach to get the most out of the talent we have.

Agreed.

The biggest problem with the team this year was the huge negative in turnover differential.

Dallas is last in the league by a wide margin... And that's what has cost the team close games more than anything else.

Was the backup QB spot stellar? No. But the lack of turnovers, and the Cowboys are challenging the league record for fewest turnovers in a season, is what did it.

And before anyone suggests it was the backup QB's that caused the huge turnover differential, keep in mind that outsider of Moore, the QB with the highest INT percentage on the team was Tony Romo.

There is a reason why very, very few 'rooks' start game one. There also is a reason why many first rounders don't even get a starting shot until mid-season.

Adjusting to the NFL is not a time chart of starting stars from the player's start in the league. It takes time, and why Jason Garrett has expressed the need for a player to earn his starting chances.

No this is a legitimate debate.
Im hopeful the back up QB is on the rooster
TE position needs to be considered I agree
We certainly will look for new talent at RB

I think Hardy is back but I dont care about Ro
take him or leave him, dont trust much

We certainly need some new DB help and this is the draft
to do that.
I want a 1tach DT assed like many here do

For some reason that made me LOL. :D

I think that the low turn-overs are representative of directional change from a unit that two seasons ago was among the worst in NFL history...take it for what it's worth. But the team is shifting from an all time low in the defensive box, as it did five seasons ago along the offensive line.

He broke down position by position what he thinks is wrong with the team, doesn't sound like a rant to me.

Would you rather talk about who we are going to play in the first round of the playoffs?............oh, wait.

Criticism of any kind is frowned upon these days and considered ranting. People have become extremely sensitive.
