I think we are overhyping da boyz, because it is a new season with a new coach, setting us up for a let-down

that is all. I'll wait for the final analysis after the 2nd pre-season, but I'm not Impressed right now. Too much giddy stuff. The boyz are still my team, just "show me the money"

:star:

You could be right......becuase I say Super Bowl every year and have been right ONLY FIVE TIMES!

I am far from over hyping this team; I am not sure what to think of this team. I had no expectations when Dead slow was out QB and the defense went into a spiral last year. Parcells look old and lost unlike the previous years we did 1 game better than I thought we would before the season started and that was all about Romo and i enjoyed that surge and his play.

I know I like what Phillips is doing with the defense; I have concerns with Glenn and TO staying healthy all year. Not sure what to think of the oline or anyone not named Newman at CB

Can this team go all the way yes but that depends on what falls into place and that includes Jason garret who I like. I still think he is the smartest QB to ever put on a Cowboys uniform (not the most talented).

Parcells was an overrated punk.

he had awesome players. All he did was sit on the sideline and spew Sodium bicarbonate out his tight anus and sourpuss Pie-Hole.

screw that Jersey Scheit
I don't agree with your team assessment but that description of Parcells just killed me.

yea, I probably went overboard a little, but hell, how can any player get motivated when they look over to the sidelines, and see his scowl.

Mark Cuban of the Mavericks does the same thing when they are losing or lost

I don't know that they are being overestimated ...... but I don't know that they aren't. That's the point, but that's what happens this time of year. Too many read a little positive press, read a few positive quotes by players, and find ways to rationalize why this year should be different, and next thing you know we are almost invincible.

Every year this kind of thng happens, and obviously we don't live up to the expectations every year.

Optimism is great, but too often reality falls from the equation.

It never fails. Every year, right around this time during training camp, we hear the mantric cries, "the sky is falling; the sky is falling"!

It never fails. . .

The opposite is true as well - this time of year we hear the mantra that things are so much better and we are Super Bowl contenders.

The truth is that at this time of year we just can't truly tell.

This s the smart approach.

As the young DC has already surmised, the defense is talent laden, and media metric-gurus have pretty much annointed the O Pro Bowlian.

Then there is the undisputed FACT that the last head coach's control freakism robbed the star running back of all but his most robotic moves, the star receiver of his rightful diversity of routes, and the young QB of the benefits that should rightly have resulted from his intelligence and mobility. And of course, they all played not just hurt but injured, and were worn down to a nub by a hellish training camp routine.

Parcells also fattened up his defensive players like cows for the slaughterhouse, rendering them sluggish and inefficient. Linemen were not trusted to stunt, or zone blitz, dumb as they were in the HC's mind.

Bill misplayed most of his personnel and rotated unwisely. Insisted on read and reacting when proactivity was called for, and elevated bend don't break to an art form, only to meet disaster when safeties who should have been blitizing were called upon to cover. Insisted on two gapping and the ever constant phobia over run D..well, clearly, the team's talent was rendered moot and now that Bill has finally retired himself, the true abilities of the players will be unleashed.

The 'loss' of control-obsessed, leader-bashing, robot-making Tuna should translate to at least THREE more wins - easily.

Yes. The extent to which Parcells stood in the way of this team's talent and success can NOT be over-estimated!

Is this post tongue-in-cheek?
