I think you almost have to sign Dak at this point

The Joneses are definitely in a corner. When you don’t have a viable option at QB to take over, that’s like walking a tight rope without a safety net. It’s going to be a difficult situation in 2025 if Dak is no longer part of this team.
Not if your goal is the Superbowl cause Dak is not getting you there. Now if they just want regular season success then just sign Dak!

What QB is going to get the Cowboys to the Super Bowl? You have to have regular season success to make the playoffs and have a chance of reaching the Super Bowl. We’re never going to reach the Super Bowl, regardless the QB until we fix some of the glaring issues that keep popping up in the playoffs. Our QB isn’t the problem but QB will be a problem if he leaves in free agency after this season. We’ll see how some of you feel when the Cowboys can’t even make the playoffs anymore. We’ll see how enjoyable Sunday’s become when these 12-5 seasons turn into 7-10 and 8-9 seasons.

Last year Dak was gawd awful against every good team we played.
We've ran these numbers time and again. Dak is average against good teams. There are only a couple qbs who exceed expectations, Mahomes and i think maybe Lamar. Look it up, stop with the false narratives and moving the goal post. You said he was regressing. You're full of crap.

There are legit arguments not to extend him. No need to make stuff up.

It's just false hope - what's the point. And Dak has been a big part of the problem in the losses in the playoffs! I would rather have 5 years of futility if it got you a Super Bowl rather than 8 years of nice regular season with playoff failures!

You can't sign Dak. He has shown signs of greatness...in the regular season...against poor teams...but when he gets to the playoffs he chokes. What is he, 2-5, in play-off games? He'll have had 9 seasons. If he doesn't produce against better competition this year he will walk and no one will complain.
One of those wins gets an asterisk...against a team that wouldn't normally be in the playoffs. Dak's forte...beating the snot out of weak loser teams.

It’s not false hope when you have one of the top QBs in the league. He hasn’t been a “big” part of the problem. He’s been the main reason we’re having a chance every year. What’s been a “big” part of the problem has been the defense in the playoffs. You’re not making any sense if you think 5 years of futility will get you to a Super Bowl. Having high draft picks every year doesn’t guarantee anything. There’s a lot of teams that have high draft picks practically every year and continue to go nowhere. A lot of their high picks are wasted on QBs that never pan out. They end up having to pass up great players at other positions because they’re desperate for a QB. Having good regular seasons improves your odds of breaking through in the playoffs. It helps build confidence, unlike losing seasons. You need to stop pinning most of our playoff failures on our QB. No QB is going to win in the playoffs with the issues we continue to see in the playoffs every year.

The question hasn't gone away. Is extending Dak Prescott now in the organization's best long-term interest? What do Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee in the front office say on this.

The answer is obvious, they endured the Dave Campo years and became the most valuable franchise in sports. They can survive without Dak.

yeah they somehow ignore all the problems and blame it on the quarterback

2016 Rogers torched the D for last minute win Dak and the O played great
2018 278 yards ont he ground.
2021 cant remember this SF game but wasn't it Deebo 10 YPC in the first half?. THey shut the run game down OL didn't play well.
2022 wasn't this the SF game the OL had 112 penalties no run game diggs misses easy INT misses kittle hit and while it appeared the D played well still a team loss
2023 - well Defense starts off with an easy 7 gives up points on almost every drive no run game OL got pummeled and than the D comes out of the half giving up 21 straight points

Id say lack of physical OL, week run game and Defense were far more of an issue than dak., sure daks had some bad moments but with one dimensional O , OL issues no run game, right he should win it all by himself.... anyone want to have real discussion on those foirst half INTS like go break down the film on why they happened , sure lets do it, first one Cooks gets interfered with not once but twice no call but it kept him from getting back to the ball, the other CD was supposed to come to the spot Dak threw too but gave up went off script and broke up field but too late Dak already released the ball to A SPOT..

but SF was down last year at the half to the lions same type of first half but D and STs kept it close and they came back, our d gave up 21 straight points out of the half..

Funny. The Aikman to Lance comparison.
Maybe we can also mention Mahomes/Lamar and compare them to Lance.
Both Mahomes and Lamar played multiple seasons in college as starters. Lance played 1 year in a Division 2 school and then started 5 NFL games.

It is. If Lance sucks you end up with a high pick which you use to hopefully get the future of the franchise.
Hope isn’t a strategy. You saw the years between Aikman and Romo, and there was no future of the franchise drafted, even though the Cowboys sucked. It’s hard enough for competent GMs to find a franchise QB, that’s why mediocre ones like Dak or Kirk Cousins make a lot of money.

And the draft is crapshoot so you draft a guy who looks like an NFL QB and hope he pans out. There is no sure fire way to land a good QB. Even if you sign one in FA or trade for one there is no guarantee it's an answer to your problems. Maybe they are a product of a system or just don't fit well on your team. It happens.

He sucked last year against Green Bay plain and simple-every year you guys try to make everyone forget how bad he sucked in the last game of the past year and try to blame the team instead

You got that from 1 preseason game? Aikman sucked pretty bad his rookie season, guess Jerry should have s-canned him too.
Troy showed flashes his rookie season that Dak and Trey can only dream of or any QB since Aikman for a matter of fact. A SB caliber QB is not currently on the roster. Only a franchise QB can overcome the deficiencies in our front office of building a SB caliber team.

He sucked early on, but came on as the game went on. He set a Cowboys playoff record with 41 completions and another Cowboys playoff record with over 400 yards. He also threw 3 TDs. We had over 500 yards of offense and 37 first downs. Who cares if a lot of it was garbage numbers, Dak never gave up. What sucked the entire game was our defense. We were down 7-0 before Dak ever got on the field. The Packers kept scoring TDs all day until they finally let up and started benching their starters. Their offense completely manhandled our defense. Had Dak played lights out the Cowboys still would’ve lost in a shootout because our defense couldn’t stop them. Green Bay could have scored 60 points if they needed to. Go rant to someone else.

It only happened because GB's defense took their foot off the gas. To say they played their A game the entire game simply isn't true.

The score was 48-16 with under 6 mins left.

I know you Dak fans aren't bragging about what Dak did in the last 5 mins.

I KNOW you Dak fans aren't really doing that.
