Claiborne hasn't lived up to the hype at all. Jenkins wasn't cutting it. If it worked out you'd be screaming how great it was, we didn't pay all that much to move up.

Hindsight is 20/20

No regrets for letting Jenkins go, plenty of regrets for wasting a first and a second on another not tough enough for prime time player,

I used to post the videos from youtube on here of him literally letting RB's just run right into the end zone because he didn't want to make contact. That is unforgivable to me if you are wearing the star. Sure, he got better in his tackling but he still wasn't a good tackler. He also got hurt often and had a ton of dumb penalties etc. We got rid of him for a good reason. "Commercial Break" Jenkins can stink it up in Oakland now for the rest of his weak career.

You didn't post those "videos" because it happened literally one time, years ago.

I didn't notice any problems with his tackling the year he played the entire season after seperating his shoulder multiple times. He was our best tackling CB that season, in fact.

He made a mistake and a "business decision" one time.. let's all get over it and stop pretending it defines his career.

My vote?

Next person who posts an "I told everybody so.." thread gets a perma ban.

Newsflash.. you didn't tell anyone anything.

You guessed at what an outcome would be, and just happened to be right. You didn't know what the outcome was going to be at the time, so saying you "knew" anything one way or the other is stupid.

The end.

There has been several posters that have called the failures before they happen. They know football. It is not hard to see it coming with this team. Don't knock them for knowing more than you.

Before cornerback palooza in the spring of 2012, I was fine with keeping Jenkins and Scandrick and merely adding a mid round pick behind them. Use that 50 million and 1st and 2nd round pick on other areas where there were real weaknesses.

We'd be so much better off as a team today had we done that.

"You guessed and you were right" = I got that one wrong.

Many here jumped on the I hate Mike Jenkins a year ago. Now he is gone and we are stuck with a wonderlic ****** that simply stinks..... Claiborne has been benched and Jenkins is in Oakland where he is laughing.

We should have kept Jenkins. His second year resulted in a Pro Bowl performance. He was very much a shut down CB. His third year, he struggled. I really think we should have kept him, and right now I think most of you do too. Cue the guy that knows the liquor store clerk, maybe you know more than I do....

We moved up in the draft for a need we didn't have, and ignored needs we actually did.

Jenkins may have had a bad attitude.... ALLEGED..... We don't know. All I know is Claiborne sucks and Jenkins didn't.

Flamesuit is on... But come out of the closet fellas... Who here wanted Claiborne over Jenkins... YOU WERE WRONG.
Ok, Jenkins goes to Oakland and is good, Newman goes to Cinci and he is good. So if Claiborne went to another team would he be good?

I was hoping we drafted Honey Badger this year. Him covering the slot would be sick.

Jenkins problem here in Dallas was not his talent, He had all the skills but honestly Dallas couldn't get pressure on anybody during most of his time here and he had zero safety support. He played hard, he got beat yes, yes he whiffed on some tackles when the games were over..But the guy could play, he's much more talented than Claiborne in my opinion. But the perception killed Jenkins here in Dallas and if the crazy expectations for Mo don't cool down he's going to be the next rag doll around here

People on here are crazy. Claiborne might be struggling but this is his 2nd year in the NFL with his 2nd DC and in a totally different scheme than he has ever been in. The guy played man in college and man last year, now he is being asked to play tampa 2 zone and he was injuried through alot of preseason. Give the young kid time.

As for Jenkins, man please, He is on Oakland for a reason. No other team in the NFL would give him a shot. He was worse the Cliaborne is the last two years. According to PFF has Jenkins ranked 61st with a overall ranking of -1.2.

He might be better than Claiborne right now but I will take the younger player over jenkins who was terrible the last two years and always hurt and isn't even doing anything this year.

Who again?

This guy?

This guy?

or the guy they're talking about >here<? Funny how that video titled "reason why girls can't play football" is now nowhere to be found on YT. Guess he got sensitive about it. I'll never forget his classic deliberate whiff on Derrick Ward. Loser..

Jenkins was doing better his sophomore year than Claiborne. Claiborne has been a complete bust this year. I'm down for trading the guy next year for a 2nd rounder it this continues.

lol@claiborne's been a 'complete bust' this year. You mean like when we held the chiefs to their lowest point total this season? Or the rams as well? lol@the cry for mike jenkins being back here and Claiborne being soft. Claiborne got hurt by actually attempting to make tackles. Mike Jenkins actively avoided tackles on more than one occasion. Now scandrick is the wonder child, but everybody was screaming at Jerry for giving him that big contract and how they didn't want scandrick on the team. I remember people screaming for 'dumb dez' who supposedly didn't know the playbook and was a woman beater and needed a babysitter to be traded. Now he's fan pick number 1.

Now a second year corner man to man cornerback who missed preseason and is now in a completely different defensive system that emphasizes zone needs to be traded or cut.

I was a big Mike Jenkins fan after drafting him and especially after his second season, but after watching his third season, it became clear that he isn't the type of player you give big money to. He just isn't self motivated. As a rookie, Scandrick was the better player. He responded to the criticism, buy playing at a pro-bowl level, more so than Newman who was actually voted in and not an alternate. And in 2010, he played worst than any CB I have ever seen. He couldn't cover anyone and drew so many pass interference penalties, that they may have named the penalty after him. And it may not have been him having bad attitude, but just a lazy one. He rebounded slightly in 2011, but not nearly enough to make you forget 2010.

Now as far as Claiborne, he may never be as good as Jenkins was in 2009, or even now, but you when you gamble on a player like Mike Jenkins, you will lose 9/10 times. And if Oakland signs him long term, and he plays well, then I have no problem saying I was wrong, but right now letting Jenkins go was not a mistake. Drafting Claiborne may have been, but Jenkins needed to go.
