The Chiefs wanted to sign a bargain corner. They didn't think Carr was worth the contract. They paid someone half of his wages to take his place.
If I recall correctly, Chief fans were upset about losing Carr. They liked their tandem of Carr and Flowers.
Standford Routt steps in, gets cut half way through the season. So clearly the Chiefs were wrong. I don't blame the Chiefs wanting to invest that much into their secondary. They have Eric Berry too.
I don't understand this, "had we drafted Flowers over Jenkins we never would've signed Carr."
We cut Newman, so we needed a corner to replace him. The choice was made between Courtland Finnegan and Carr. Claiborne was brought in to replace Jenkins. So are you saying IF we had Flowers, we would have never drafted Claiborne?
Dallas had no way of knowing, that the Rams would trade down again and give them the chance of signing Claiborne until draft day.
