I’m down on Zeke just like most fans, but he did have a valuable role and served a purpose. If we go into the season and struggle to pick up critical short yards to move the chains or punch it into the endzone, everyone’s going to start bringing up the fact that we don’t have Zeke and we’re missing the value he brought to the team. If we don’t have someone to pick up those 4th and ones that McCarthy likes going for it’s going to lead to big problems.

Nope....it's the Malik Davis Era now!
He may not make the team.

Pollard, Vaughn, Jones may very well beat out Davis. And if they keep the FB they just signed. No room for him. They didn't even trust him in the SF game after Pollard went down.

This is where I am. It's gone. I get the concept but we are already paying him 11 mil. It's his. Why sign him again? Sometimes you have to cut the cord. Time for some others to get their time.
I get that....but, if he can come in at a very friendly contract and we know what he brings and he knows what he brings.....why not? He's a good player with special skills and that plays through pain and injuries...there is no one else out there that can help us like he can.....unless we trade for someone that will cost a fortune.

I know a little football and I think Zeke can still serve a purpose. With a good contract and a new direction, he can really help.
At this stage, I see him as a great short yard, tough runner...which we don't have....I also see him as an HBack type player...he's a good blocker...part time fullback and he can actually line up on the flex TE position....he had great hands.....I'd love this role for him.....my bud @CowboyRoy is gonna kill me, but that's my take.
Dang how many times are we going to marinate in this?????????????

With less of a load, then those injuries may not occur.
You knees would hurt too if you had to block for Dak on passing plays more than needed. Because of a pass happy OC, and a QB that hangs onto the ball longer than needed.
I don't disagree. Less money should mean less carries and maybe he stays more fresh. I'm not against it. I'm just saying the older he gets the more injuries he will have so he's probably always going to slow down as the season goes on if he can't stay healthy.

June 1st, do they need to wait until then, because he was a June 1st cut? Or is that only when his money is available to use?

yeah, dude has heart and never complained and powered thru injury. Cant hate the dude for that, but on the other hand when it starts to hurt the team you gotta let go.
I agree. I'd take him to camp. He comes out as the best or one of the best backs you bring him in. Not sure why people are so scared to see what he can do.

what about the 32 NFL teams? They don't know football?
Its important to know though we don't know what Zeke is being offered or what he's asking for. If he tests the market and people are saying vet minimum? Why wouldn't he just take that here and get to stay in the area?
