I think they get in their own heads about a player. They didn't want to insult him to offer him a paycut crap. Now they worry players like him too much in the locker room it might be a distraction for coaches, and he scores too many shortyardage TD's they really hate that too apparently. Pollard struggled with this last year some, RJ sucks in these situations so their answer is I think the undrafted FB. I would much rather Zeke than RJ but at RJ's price.

I know a little football and I think Zeke can still serve a purpose. With a good contract and a new direction, he can really help.
At this stage, I see him as a great short yard, tough runner...which we don't have....I also see him as an HBack type player...he's a good blocker...part time fullback and he can actually line up on the flex TE position....he had great hands.....I'd love this role for him.....my bud @CowboyRoy is gonna kill me, but that's my take.

I'm on board, though I can't help but wonder if Hunter Luepke might be a better option. I know he's undrafted, and having Zeke might help develop him (plus, we could cut Ronald Jones and have Zeke, Vaughn, Pollard, and Luepke in the RB/FB room). So, from that standpoint, I can see the logic of having Zeke back for one more season.

the biggest thing is can it take his 6 mill hit and turn it into base 1mill if resigning him doesnt waive the 6mill hit then its a hard no for me.

Time to move on, in my opinion.

Pollard doesn't need Zeke hover over him...

I think it's possible IF Zeke is willing to take a lesser role. He's going to have to understand that he's not the bell cow anymore. If he's fortunate enough to be given another season here, his job will be short yardage plays, blitz protection, and helping Luepke develop. If he's willing to take a lesser role with these being his role, then I can see him signing.

Zeke can help the team by NOT occupying a roster spot.....He's been a declining players for three years...as a free agent no other team even sniffed at signing him yet some of you still think he would be some asset, come on people take the rose colored glasses off and put the pom poms down, he's done!!

Love Zeke and defended him passionately when the former poster Aria use to slam him ( like the Horsemen against Dak, lol) but it time to cut the cord and move on. I would do a hard pass. With Bob “ Purple” Haze on this one.
I understand, but you and purple haze don't get my point. He has a home in Dallas, doesn't want to leave, great teammate....and yes, I know that for a fact. An old teammate of mine is on staff....he does the little things, GREAT!. Why not?

I get that....but, if he can come in at a very friendly contract and we know what he brings and he knows what he brings.....why not? He's a good player with special skills and that plays through pain and injuries...there is no one else out there that can help us like he can.....unless we trade for someone that will cost a fortune.
I'm not saying your suggestion is outlandish from what you are talking football wise. So hope you didn't take it that way. I just think the guys ability to produce what you are talking about is gone. I think his legs are dead and he just doesn't have much to offer that we couldn't have someone else try. Now if we get into the season and that part of the puzzle is missing and not going well and he is out there...maybe. But right now with the money he's collected etc I'm not sure either side goes there.
