I've always liked Mike Nolan as a coach.
Some people are just meant to be coordinators..

No knock on him either.

Of that there is no doubt. I think he is a great D-cord.

I have no problem with them having a good running game and I know Moreno is an exciting, talented back or that they are playing well defensively etc.. it's when their troll fans feel they need to come to our forum and litter every thread with how great how awesome they think their team is and **** ours is. After that don't expect to get respect. We haven't beaten a top team well neither have you so ****. We will see who has the better team very soon.

Even running a dink and dunk offense Orton is only completing 55% of his passes this season.

This is mostly cause he's smart with the ball and throws a lot of passes away rather than taking sacks. I don't expect to get a lot of sacks Sunday. Our D is gonna have to play solid, patient football.

We have a good run stop defense and if We contain those short dink and dunk passes to the Rb's and Te's we will dominate them.

I'm not as worried about Denver as many here.

Looks like right now the broncos have some injuries from the raiders game.

They might be missing their right tackle, left guard and starting nickle corner alphonso smith.

The offense appears to be an offense that goes sideways, I am not sure if that is just the way it is designed, where orton throws the ball, a conservative approach or the fact that orton has an injured index finger on his throwing hand.

Either way. If they dont throw deep on us and challenge us where our deficiency is, we will beat them up at the line of scrimmage. I personally dont think they can run on us if they dont make a big deep play in the passing game early.

I think this game for Dallas will be about surviving the early emotion from the broncos and the fans and then settling down in the 2nd qtr and being patient.

Orton constantly looking underneath means only one thing.

We need to tackle well.

I didnt see a lot of verticle routes, but they have Marshall and I imagine they will test that deep ball this week. I agree with you on the emotion and frantic early play being a big key. It will be fun to watch.

First thing that jumped out at me was they can play the run and are a physical football team, so Dallas better be ready to get dirty in the trenches.

Second, Orton looks to throw underneath constantly. Their ground game allows him the time to play this way. Another thing is he is in shotgun a lot, even in run downs and this is another reason he is not sacked much. They use a lot of shotgun draws and fake the run and playaction from the gun a lot.

Brooking and James will need to be ready this week for a tough matchup. Discipline will be at a premium with their run and short pass game.

Their 3-4 looks big and they mix their blitzes well. Dawkins looks like his old self and they show him and other cb's blitz and peel off or bring it. The Raiders had numerous opportunities for plays on deep posts and Russell could not make the throw or the WR did not use good techniques. Russell looked like crap and some of it was the Bronco D, but I think most was Russell.

After watching the Broncos I think our passing game will have to be effective if we are going to win. Broncos have the ability to stop a physical run team, but Romo will have to make them pay when they cheat up. It is gonna be close, Dallas 24-20.

Sounds like our offense....

The one thing to note is Denver has played really poor OLs. I mean probably the worst in the league. Dallas' OL is healthy and a top 5 unit while healthy.
If we can't run on them I'll be shocked.

Is it true that their defenders are small but quick? If yes, I think our O-line can handle them if they play the way they've been playing. Our run blocking has been phenomenal from the linemen to the fullback to the wide receivers. We might not get 200 yards, but I bet we'll do well running the ball, which should open up the passing game.

They were last year because I think Shanahan got infatuated with our defenses from the 90s. Trouble is, his players just weren't nearly as talented. LOL

I've heard they are much bigger now, one of the bigger units in the league.

Heh, I said "bigger unit." LOL

Very tough game this Sunday. Against a team playing well. Regardless of who they have played. They have to still play good football and win. Every team is beatable and you can't look over anyone (see 08 Rams, grrrrr).

And one other thing.

Victor Butler BEST be playing more in this game.

if we don't turn the ball over, we win--unless Orton goes deep at the end and Hamlin tips the ball instead of making the game ending tackle

Yeah, nice post.

I agree, they appear dink n dunkers, for sure...That's the slow & methodical way of trying to score and maintain possession (also tire out a defense)...Not too surprising since he's a Patriot coach...Looks like he's running the same thing he did under Belichik (Still amazing that the guy is 33 years old, wow)

Gotta be going into this game as underdogs since, on paper, it does not bode well for the Cowboys, IMHO.

Apart from a well run offense, they're stout on D...Despite an easy early schedule, they are leading the league against the run (Something will have to give then between the two clubs), fewest allowed yards and in sacks.

Does appear that the 'weakness' in Denver from a statistical standpoint would be in pass defense which also happens to be the area of Dallas' offense you don't want to put all your focus on.

Should be a great 'test' for the Cowboys...An opportunity to see what we should expect from the sort of up/down team we've seen the first few weeks

I just took a look at the local Denver weather for Sunday. Oh sweet lawdy, 65 degrees and just a few clouds. That's Tony Romo slice 'em and dice 'em weather, right there.

Sweet lawdy, Brian Dawkins, I hope you make the correct reads in the deep middle, 'cause the Cowboys are going vertical.
