First thing that jumped out at me was they can play the run and are a physical football team, so Dallas better be ready to get dirty in the trenches.

Second, Orton looks to throw underneath constantly. Their ground game allows him the time to play this way. Another thing is he is in shotgun a lot, even in run downs and this is another reason he is not sacked much. They use a lot of shotgun draws and fake the run and playaction from the gun a lot.

Brooking and James will need to be ready this week for a tough matchup. Discipline will be at a premium with their run and short pass game.

Their 3-4 looks big and they mix their blitzes well. Dawkins looks like his old self and they show him and other cb's blitz and peel off or bring it. The Raiders had numerous opportunities for plays on deep posts and Russell could not make the throw or the WR did not use good techniques. Russell looked like crap and some of it was the Bronco D, but I think most was Russell.

After watching the Broncos I think our passing game will have to be effective if we are going to win. Broncos have the ability to stop a physical run team, but Romo will have to make them pay when they cheat up. It is gonna be close, Dallas 24-20.

They beat the two teams with the worst offenses in the league and another one that is ranked 24th. I am not worried about their defense at all. I am worried about ours though and hope we can stay disciplined and not bit on their play-fakes and double-moves.

We just put up over 200 yards rushing against two of the best run defenses in the league. I'm not worried.

Man we give a ton of room for opposing receivers on just about every down. And to compound that point, our DBs are not tacking well either. Seems to me if they can slow our pass rush down, then we are setting ourselves up for not only consistent first downs, but they may actually set up the run as well. This is definitely not a game in the bag for us.

However, we arent slouches ourselves. Back-to-back 200+ yards on the ground with Witten catching just about everything and great special teams will keep us in the mix I think. Go Cowboys!

No kidding. These Bronco fans are flat out being fooled w/ that 3-0 number.

It's blinding them.

Against the giants, we rushed 251 yards. Against carolina, 212 yards. I'd say not too shabby.

Before getting too confident, know that we won't have Felix and Barber won't be 100% if we have him at all.

The guy who does most of the damage on those 200 yard games (Felix) will NOT be in the backfield come Sunday.

Traditionally speaking, the Giants and Carolina are strong against the run. NY has was was widely claimed to be the best DL in all of football, and the Panthers DL is considered good as well.

Having said that... this is a new season and currently neither team is ranked that highly against the run. Having played the Cowboys no doubt has something to do with their low rankings, because there are only three games to figure into the equation (33% is the Dallas game).

Oh well... light will be shed on things once the game is played on Sunday, I suppose. Here's to no injuries.

No, not bad at all but to say they are two of the top defensive rushing teams is stretching it seeing NY is ranked 20th and Carolina 29th.

I would take those rushing numbers regardless though. Sounds like Barber will be back too. Will be good to see how the Denver D does against a back like him.

Agreed. Hard to tell much at this point hence why I am looking forward to the game Sunday to see where each team stands. Best of luck!

NY's rushing numbers are a little skewed by the 251 we put on them.

As time goes on they will be a time that is a top 10 team against the run.

Good point and agree that NY will be a top 10 team vs the run by season's end.

I know one thing: the Cowboys games skewed BOTH rankings for those rushing Ds. I know also that Carolina did a pretty decent job of keeping Micahel Turner in check until waay late in the game (I had to pay attention to my fantasy league RB and was releived when he FINALLY got me some points in the 4th). The Giants absolutely crushed a Tampa Bay attack that, up to that point, was very effective with Cadillac and Bradshaw manning the frontal assault.

Neither team's defenses are impenetrable, but Dallas did the bulk of the damage in dropping those teams' rush D ranking and, no doubt, will pound a king size hole or two in Denver's per game average.

I watched the browns and raiders game.

I think we should run on them. If barber is healthy there is no doubt we will.

Orton doesnt have a pick, but he has been careless in the redzone and has narrowly escaped two picks. I also noticed their backs put the ball on the ground against oakland.

One thing that stands out about the two games I watched is The inability of Quinn and russell to move the ball has led to a huge field position problem allowing the broncos to basically take zero chances with the ball. Everything is a run from a spread or quick crossing routes.

and another thing is they have not had to defend a complete offense. They have not played a tight end who can do anything yet. Cleveland and oaklands offensive line created running room but for different reasons they didnt take advantage of it.

Their kickers are all outstanding. It was very windy when they played cleveland and you could see it affecting the passing game.

Tony scheffler is a good player and will create problems as will gaffney and stokley.l

i'm not sure where you get that from...the Broncos fumbled 1 time that game, which by the way is the only offensive turnover of the season so far for Denver...

some other things to touch on...the Bengals have a pretty complete offense...you have to account for their WRs and their run game...with Dallas the run game is a bigger threat but the receivers don't scare teams...

someone also made mention that Denver has faced bad o-lines...thats not really true...the Browns have one of the best lineman in the game and overall their o-line is solid...and Oakland before playing us showed a decent o-line and cincy's ain't all bad either...of course, Dallas has a much better o-line then those teams so i admit that...

another thing...

watching us play the other games can help some but don't get too carried away in analyzing it...

McDaniels devises plans each week that are predicated to attacking the opposing defense's weakness...

so when we played oakland, we ran drag routes to attack the short middle of the fields where their suspect LB core is in coverage...stayed away from the Raider's strong secondary...

so whatever Dallas' weakness is, thats where you'll prolly get attacked...

whats the cowboy's weakness area on defense?...
