I wish Henson would get a chance to play

Not too bad for having a bunch of 'walkons' for receivers.

How many walk ons played in the opposing secondaries ? Or LBs ?, or DL ?

Parcells is a shrewd talent evaluator, but he's intentionally holding Henson back...and this I'm sure of!

He didn't play in in 2004 when we were out of the playoff mix, he isn't playing him in preseason now despite him elevating his game in Europe...it just don't add up. We might have another gem on this roster, and if anything we could be showcasing him to a team that needs QB help.

Oh, I see. Its not in Bill Parcells best interests to give players with talent the oppurtunities to show it, right? Parcells isnt about winning games, he is about personal vendettas against 3rd string QB's, correct?

How many walk-ons played on the offensive line, as receivers, and tight ends?

You can't have it one way.

This is ludicrous. Why would the Head Coach intentionally hold a player on his team back?? I guess BP just doesn't want to win:rolleyes: Not everything is a conspiracy... calm down

Maybe Parcells knows something you dont? No? Never, of course not.

Why must you jump into any discussion that involves Drew Henson and share you same old tired stuff? I mean, I wouldn't say anything if you just posted something reasonable and had something meaningful to add, but you just jump in with these things like "who cares about the clipboard holder?" Obviously some of us care or we wouldn't express what the poster expressed. If you don't care, then be true to yourself, DON'T CARE. But there isn't any reason just to try and aggravate those who do. Are you really trying to make a well thought out football point with your "clipboard" comments, or just trying to poke at those who think Henson can play? The poster even acknowledged that it is Bledsoe's and Romo's progress that puts Henson's purpose for being on this roster in doubt. I agree with him, trade or release the young man if you care about his football future, at least send him somewhere where he can get a fresh start.

Nah....Parcells is simply the wrong coach at the wrong time for Henson.

Parcells has said Henson's biggest problem is that he doesn't relax...that his mind is too busy...

So ya think a good coach for a kid like that is someone who is a mind screwing hardarse?

Wrong time, wrong place.

Thats what I am saying. I think we are in agreement. Both sides of the ball were filled with inferior talent compared to the NFL. So for someone to throw out stats like Henson was pretty good, isnt a true assessment of the talent he faced or played with.

And yet you come in with the same old tired 'cut him and let him get a fresh start' routine. Whine, whine.

What is this talent that many of you say Henson has? He has a strong arm, that is all I can say about the guy. I don't think he makes good decisions, he is not very smooth and....I do feel sorry for him because he did not make it in baseball and I don't think will ever start for an NFL team.

If you "care about his football future," and think he has a shot to be a NFL QB, why let him go to another team so he can succeed there instead of with you. Face it guys, this is a business, and we're in the business of winning.

Henson may be a guy that can help us do that in the future... or he may be a guy that can help another team. If he can help another team and we can get something for him, then we can do that. but we're not going to just cut a guy and take a cap hit without getting something back if we think he has potential. We're not keeping him on the team to hurt his chances (or his feelings).

I dont know what coach in the league is going to coddle him into getting it.

Just wanted to say, I share your feelings, expressed in your signature picture. Oh How I wish, the hey days of great QBing of cowboys is back. I always thought, Like Mickey Expressed in his column after Aikman retired, people will regret the wish to see Aikman off Cowboys roster.

Lets face it... decisions need to be made with Romo being eligible for free agency at seasons end. Getting a long look at him was a must and I dont fault the organization for that.

I do fault Parcells for the way Henson has developed to this point, starting with his debut on Thanksgiving day a couple years back and not getting a chance to get some exposure when we were obviously out of contention later that season.

So there's nothing in between mind screwing and coddling?

I agree with your thinking peplaw, but I guess my question is, which is it? Does he have value or not? If he has value, WORK WITH HIM, devote attention to him, let him PLAY sometimes. (Like a pre-season 4th quarter) If he has no value, if YOU ARE REALLY THAT DOWN ON HIM, then let him go. The guy is still young, and has the physical tools necessary to play on the NFL level, maybe someone else can get out of him what Parcells can't. Just my opinion, of course.

Parcells made a big stink about not pushing a QB into a game too early because of the risk of "losing" him...and that's exactly what he did on Thanksgiving.

If Henson was on a team like the Jets, Browns, Packers, etc. He would have a better chance at this point. For the most part those teams are in rebuilding modes and the staffs are all new which would give him a fair chance to prove himself.

I understand what you are saying Juke.

Might not be a conspiracy, but you can't argue that Henson isn't a "Parcell's kinda guy", and that is why he's not getting the opportunity Romo is.
