I would fire McCarthy and promote Quinn if we lose on Monday

What has Atlanta done since then or the 50 years prior to that in their organization's history?
Not much, matter of fact, Quinn just added on to their organizations history of not doing much. Mike Smith was a better HC than Quinn

Listen to Jayron Kearse's comments about Quinn at the 2:33 mark. He called him "heaven sent". I've heard several players speak very highly of Quinn in this fashion. He obviously has a very strong personal connection w/ the players. On the other hand, I've seen Dak struggle describing his relationship w/ McCarthy when asked about it by the media, and I've heard Micah say he doesn't talk w/ McCarthy much. I believe Kearse is the only one who has come out and openly praised McCarthy. Because of this dynamic, I trust Quinn w/ the keys more than McCarthy and wouldn't hesitate to make the switch if we lose on Monday. I don't care that the defense has fallen off late in the season, that has more to do w/ the injuries/personnel. Quinn is a true leader of men, I don't want to see this thing w/out him next season. Thoughts?

They are not there to be buddy-buddy. Dak is too comfortable.

McCarthy is a Super Bowl winning head coach with a phenomenal track record. His track record is just as good as Sean Payton’s, who people treat as a genius HC. In 16 years as a HC, McCarthy has made the playoffs 11 times, with 3 trips to the NFCCG.

Besides a SB appearance, Quinn does not have the track record. I wouldn’t fire McCarthy even if we lose on Monday.

Quinn lost a 19-point lead.

If McCarthy gets fired my first call is too Jim Harbaugh…he wants a Super Bowl win real bad…that’s why him and the nfl come up every year…

If Quinn gets a job offer, that’s a decision Jerry will have to make. I’m done with MM so I’d be fine with that move. Not sure how much success he’d have as HC though.

If they lose Monday night it might be time to blow the hole damn thing up and start over. Jerry won't do that because he is desperate and will try anything he can to win a championship with these players.

if mccarthy was indeed brought in to get the team over the hump in the playoffs then this, and the potential subsequent game, is the exact reason he was brought it. While i don't typically support turnover of coaches this quickly i wouldn't be averse in this situation. If they lose this weekend then something drastic has to happen - coaches have to go, dak has to go, tons of FA's have to be brought in, something...can't just go with "we have a good team, lets be good in the regular season" anymore.

regardless, i think its a moot point because this team is going to rock TB

Quinn's D has completely fallen apart down the stretch. Struggled against the awful Texans, whipped by the Jags and Eagles with their backup QB, embarrassed by the Commanders and their 3rd string QB.

There is no world where Dan Quinn being promoted would be a justifiable decision. Except in Jerral Jones' feeble mind, he can justify anything then sell it to the plebes who fill his bank accounts.

Quinn lost a 19-point lead.
It was 28-3 in that SB in the 3rd quarter.
So, I offer a small correction to hammer your point even further.
A 25 point lead in the biggest game of his life.

(with current 49ers HC, Kyle Shanahan, calling plays for Atlanta.)

Big Mike will NOT be fired if Dallas loses any playoff game this year.
He will be the HC of 2023 and people will just have to deal with it.

I would have zero issues with making Quinn HC, in fact just go back a couple months and 80% of this board was terrified that we would lose Quinn this offseason and many demanded that change be made regardless of if Jerry wanted to fire MM or not.

Not sure if MM or Quin is the answer as HC. Quin has enough to fix on defense before he can also worry about offense. Mike has done too little to help KM as an OC and Mike's offensive coaches suck. Biggest thing to help any offense wether its a vet like dak or a new guy is to get the run game to be consistently dangerous. I'd definately look at the OL, WR, QB coaches see if we can't upgrade some of these to help KM out a little bit.

I'd fire McCarthy, but has Quinn done the second half of the season to show he is worthy?
