I would fire McCarthy and promote Quinn if we lose on Monday

Quinn's D has completely fallen apart down the stretch. Struggled against the awful Texans, whipped by the Jags and Eagles with their backup QB, embarrassed by the Commanders and their 3rd string QB.

There is no world where Dan Quinn being promoted would be a justifiable decision. Except in Jerral Jones' feeble mind, he can justify anything then sell it to the plebes who fill his bank accounts.
Lets see what happens come playoff time before we completely lose faith in this defense. That Commanders QB that "embarrassed" this defense only had 169 yards. That game wasn't pretty no matter how you shake it, but the defense was OK. Tennessee they only gave up 13 points. Philly got em pretty good, but they did get 4 turnovers. Jacksonville was ugly, but again 3 turnovers in that game by this defense. Houston only had a little over 300 yards of total offense. I think it was largely the 3 turnovers by the Cowboys offense that really made that a game.

This defense is giving up more big plays and hasn't gotten to the passer as often as they were, but it feels like we went from a 0 to 10 on hating this defense, when in reality we should probably be like a 0 to like a 4.

You have to get a coach you isn't begging for a job. You need a coach with other coaching options, that way he'll have leverage to get things done "his" way when he gets here. The problem with Mike is that he took the job after the Joneses told him that Kellen Moore was part of the package. You need a coach that has the aura and big personality to outshine the Joneses, you need a coach that will be the face of this organization, you need Sean Payton!!!

If he didn't have to be traded for I'd be all over this, but I can't stomach giving up a first round pick for the guy.

I would have zero issues with making Quinn HC, in fact just go back a couple months and 80% of this board was terrified that we would lose Quinn this offseason and many demanded that change be made regardless of if Jerry wanted to fire MM or not.
Same here, just make sure he has one of the best OCs avail..........no, NOT Kellen (lol)

Fire a Super Bowl winning coach who just went 12-5, won 4 games with a backup QB including 1 against the defending Super Bowl Champions, lost his left tackle in training camp and was forced to start a rookie, lost his right tackle who was playing at a Pro Bowl level, lost both his slot and outside starting CBs, lost his middle linebacker, and his starting center for multiple games, but still managed to claw his team into the playoffs? Fire a coach who has kept this team dead quiet with zero drama going into the playoffs, has addressed injuries and has the team healthy coming into Monday night, and has done all of this while also coaching against the Jones Boys and a derelict NFL Referee's Association? Is this the same coach we're talking about firing should he lose Monday night? This all based on the fact that Jevon and Micah think Quinn is a swell dude? I look forward to Tuesday, the day after Fat Mike ends Brady's career and posts like this one.

I don't mind Quinn elevating to HC if we part ways with MM. I'll take him over an unproven guy like Kellen Moore any day.

I dont think Moore could command the respect of vet players like Quinn could.

Listen to Jayron Kearse's comments about Quinn at the 2:33 mark. He called him "heaven sent". I've heard several players speak very highly of Quinn in this fashion. He obviously has a very strong personal connection w/ the players. On the other hand, I've seen Dak struggle describing his relationship w/ McCarthy when asked about it by the media, and I've heard Micah say he doesn't talk w/ McCarthy much. I believe Kearse is the only one who has come out and openly praised McCarthy. Because of this dynamic, I trust Quinn w/ the keys more than McCarthy and wouldn't hesitate to make the switch if we lose on Monday. I don't care that the defense has fallen off late in the season, that has more to do w/ the injuries/personnel. Quinn is a true leader of men, I don't want to see this thing w/out him next season. Thoughts?

I dont know. I just really want a new scheme. On both sides of the ball. If Quinn can hire his own DC and OC id be ok with it.

Go read the article by David Moore from today about Dak and Moore. I don’t see Mike getting fired but Moore most certainly could.

nope I would not, Mccarthy is showing he can build a great team. It is not his fault Jerry is hindering him... he could still pull us out a SB season though if given time.

If Booger would fire McC after a 12 win season, preceded by a 12 win season, what makes you think Quinn would take the job over another one that he might be offered? Owners do not fire HC's that have 12 win back-to-back seasons.

The DC HC job is one that demands any HC subrogate his ego and allow the GM to take over almost all of his responsibilities outside the locker room.

This owner actually enjoyed setting up that courting of Payton after he ran from NO, does that seem like an owner that appreciates the HC or tolerates his presence with his team? He put his present HC on the spot with the media and made him as uncomfortable as I have ever seen any HC.

McCarthy is a Super Bowl winning head coach with a phenomenal track record. His track record is just as good as Sean Payton’s, who people treat as a genius HC. In 16 years as a HC, McCarthy has made the playoffs 11 times, with 3 trips to the NFCCG.

Besides a SB appearance, Quinn does not have the track record. I wouldn’t fire McCarthy even if we lose on Monday.
If we get blown out and don't even show up I would. No excuse for that two straight years.

Well, Marty Schottenheimer got fired for back to back winning seasons. I believe his last season he was 14-2....but had losses in the playoffs. Of course, he is probably the only outlier.

howd the locker room do after 28-3?
And what game was that in again? Supe… Superb….Super Bowl….I think that’s what it’s called. Not sure because we haven’t been to in almost 30 years. I’ll cut him a little slack for taking his team that far.
