CFZ If Cooper Rush Has to Be Our Starter

The defense began to struggle when Dak came back, but the offense (passing game) began to flourish. The Cowboys became the highest scoring offense in the league when Dak returned. We had very little passing game under Cooper Rush and we weren’t scoring many points. However, our running game fizzled out when Dak returned.
There's reasons for all of that

I mean Cooper rush he's not a starter and there's no way long term he's going to be any good as long term player..

however, yes the defense started struggling because we lost players when Hankins got hurt when both brown and Lewis was lost for the season, there was big holes and they started not playing very well even the special teams a Turpin was taking balls out he shouldn't have, he was fumbling or at least muffing some of the opportunities.. yes things change we needed to score more points and Cooper rush can't do that but also remember Terrence Steele went out we also had to lose TylerB and the left guard was in and out it was shuffling all over the place..

so yeah we had a four-game stretch with Cooper rush that we couldn't have played better as a team across the board elite ball however after the injuries and the shuffling and all that Prescott once again like Tony Romo had to come in and score a lot of points and move the ball and be one-dimensional to win games.

Let's hope not.

But does anyone else think this team is not only built for Dak, but also without him, and almost especially for Cooper Rush? I think it's pretty awesome.

I actually have confident in Rush, and more so now that weapons like Cooks pan out, and even more. If weapons like Schoon end up hitting, Oh my..I suspect Cooper is throwing harder this season. If he worked on anything it was probably agility and arm-strength. That would have been my offseason advice to Rush. He could be a good player. I still think that. Just needs to study guys like Testaverde, Warner, Flutie, day I say, George, even Dilfer, and Romo as a backup.

He's got a lot of those different sorts of traits as a player. That's seems to be the approach Chris Vaughn has taken with Deuce: matching players to study or emulate that match the ability, at least as far as the things you really can do, and I would say really focus on Kurt Warner.. Because of the limited arm thing. But you can actually work on strength. I know a guy who went from playing baseball at Concordia to being one of the best set up players in baseball. But that would be my advise to Cooper Rush.. just study, and be like the great ones, study what they do, but at the end of the day you're still you. Just upgrade your weapons, so-to-speak.

I think Deuece is a good example of why you should listen to the experts advising you. And think he'll be a good inspiration for teammates to see, hey, if Deuece can do it.. I'm going to do it, too. I think our bottom of the roster players were feeling down at when their time came around, and that's tough when you're playing an extension philosophy defense, where players are knowing what the others are doing and playing their role rather than gang tackling.

Anyway, cheers to those guys. That's what the preseason is about.
In my opinion if the Dallas Cowboys front office knows 100% we lost Prescott for the season at any point I don't think Cooper Russia starting more than two games why we pick a guy up off the trash sheet that's an actual veteran starter I don't care if it's Cam Newton, Phillip rivers , ryans or somebody out there that's a better option to play more games unless the season's over already by that point but if we still have a shot and Prescott's done for the season Cooper rush will not be our long term quarterback he's not going to get that lucky to have a defense special teams run game and offensive line play an elite level like he did the last stretch he played and even then he left a lot to be desired he's the kind of backup that you don't mind running in right when Prescott goes down and maybe the following week while you try to dig somebody up that can finish the season.

This offense is built for pretty much anybody l o l
Don’t know where you came up with that. No offense is built for pretty much anyone at QB. Some of you think you can just stick anyone in at QB and you’re good to go. Lol There’s still going to be a premium on passing the football and if we struggle to run the ball it’s going to put even more pressure on our QB.

naw I'm a Cowboys fan, not a player or coach fan. You probably were backing Garrett up until they got rid of Coach Prescott. Garrett and dak are the same type of guy. shrugs. no differences.
if you are rooting for a player to be bad and the cowboys to lose. You are not a Cowboys fan. No ifs, buts or then.

Anyone who thinks Rush has a better anything than Dak is showing the real reason why they are here..period. Again you can not like Dak but dont sell me Rush its ridiculous.....
Cooper has a better head for the game. It's actually freakishly good. However, he completely lacks the requisite minimum skillset to start. Rush has no interest among other teams. If not for DALL, he wouldn't be in the league.

The defense should be good enough to carry us for a few games.

Like last year, as long as we don't need to score much more than 20 points, Rush can drive the bus ok for a short while

yet we want dak to just drive the bus like Rush. you can't make this crap up. We now are going to try to simplify the offense so dak doesn't sabotage the team like the last two years. shrugs

Romo said last year and ive heard podcast say this year that Rush's arm strength has consistently gotten better.

Having said that neither has what it takes to win us a superbowl.
I'm betting it has. He's obviously a student of the game and has some ability.

If he were to work on that weakness, he could be a good player, maybe even start.

Anyway, my problem with Dak was always his ability to beat winning teams. He got better at that last year.

Part of it is having the teammates to pull it off.

Dak is a bus driver. A good one. And there's nothing wrong with that.

yep, but he wants to be paid better than a bus drive. I wish KC would have never upgraded their bus driver.
A bus driver doesn't mean better or worse.. it's just an approach. It doesn't mean you suck... People misconstrue that all the time.

Tom Brady was the best bus driver of all time. Tied w/ Joe Montana.

All I know is that Dak is not good enough to be sitting out preseason games especially in a new offense. Nothing has changed with this team and it will be the same results.

Methinks you haven't been paying attention.
