Probably one of the best short term QB's in the league. Basically, he's good at not losing the game and letting the other squads step up.

However, he would be a liability against the really good teams late in the season.
Unfortunately, Dak's record against the really good teams is no bueno.

Unfortunately, Dak's record against the really good teams is no bueno.
Dak has played 45 regular season games against teams that had winning seasons. He is 22-23.

Of the 40 quarterbacks that played at least 20 winning teams in the combined seasons of 2016 to 2022, Dak is 11th in winning percentage. Only ten quarterbacks have won a higher percentage of games against teams that ended up with a winning record.

His numbers are 1097-1624-12235YDS-73TD-41INT for a 94.2 passer rating.

That is the 10th highest passer rating among all NFL quarterbacks when playing a team with a winning record for the combined seasons of 2016 to 2022. That is higher than Jalen Hurts, Josh Allen, Mathew Stafford, Ben Roethlisberger, Russel Wilson, Matt Ryan and Tom Brady

Dak has a higher winning percentage than three quarters of quarterbacks when playing against teams with a winning record at the end of the season.

Dak has played against a playoff team 38 times and the Cowboys have won 15 of them

He is ranked 14th best out of 61 QB's in winning percentage against playoff teams. Dak has won a higher percentage of games against playoff teams than three quarters of QB's from 2016 to 2022.

For all quarterbacks that played at least ten games against playoff teams, Dak's QB rating is ranked 11th best out of 61 quarterbacks.

There have been three occasions in which Dak and the Cowboys played against a team that went to the Super Bowl that season. Dak and the Cowboys won two of them.

Let's hope not.

But does anyone else think this team is not only built for Dak, but also without him, and almost especially for Cooper Rush? I think it's pretty awesome.

I actually have confident in Rush, and more so now that weapons like Cooks pan out, and even more. If weapons like Schoon end up hitting, Oh my..I suspect Cooper is throwing harder this season. If he worked on anything it was probably agility and arm-strength. That would have been my offseason advice to Rush. He could be a good player. I still think that. Just needs to study guys like Testaverde, Warner, Flutie, day I say, George, even Dilfer, and Romo as a backup.

He's got a lot of those different sorts of traits as a player. That's seems to be the approach Chris Vaughn has taken with Deuce: matching players to study or emulate that match the ability, at least as far as the things you really can do, and I would say really focus on Kurt Warner.. Because of the limited arm thing. But you can actually work on strength. I know a guy who went from playing baseball at Concordia to being one of the best set up players in baseball. But that would be my advise to Cooper Rush.. just study, and be like the great ones, study what they do, but at the end of the day you're still you. Just upgrade your weapons, so-to-speak.

I think Deuece is a good example of why you should listen to the experts advising you. And think he'll be a good inspiration for teammates to see, hey, if Deuece can do it.. I'm going to do it, too. I think our bottom of the roster players were feeling down at when their time came around, and that's tough when you're playing an extension philosophy defense, where players are knowing what the others are doing and playing their role rather than gang tackling.

Anyway, cheers to those guys. That's what the preseason is about.
This team has zero chance if Dak suffers a significant injury that takes him out for half the season or longer.

Cooper Rush is barely an NFL caliber quarterback. It’s a weakness of the team and one we didn’t plan for.

Cooper Rush showed leadership that Dak doesn't understand.
He played well, and the Cowboys were better with him than Dak.
Rush would have won vs San Francisco; Dak laid an egg.
The entire roster would say you are very, very m, wrong.

The entire roster went home after Dak choked vs San Francisco for the second year in a row.
And the entire roster has went home every year after Dak choked with the season on the line.
I'm not interested in the opinion of men who speak in the interest of staying in Jerry's good graces.
I'm interested in results.

Unfortunately, Jerry fell for the "He won games" thingie. Such a casual fan way to evaluate.

We will be fine with Cooper Rush as our QB.
MM won games without Aaron Rodgers.
All that said, Our OL needs to dominate like they used to.

Rush got cut and went to the Giants ? When did that happen ?

I know we cut Cooper with the agreed terms that he return to the club if he passed thru waivers.
By what I understood, Cooper has only played for one NFL team during his career - and that's the Cowboys

https://5thdownfantasy.com/news/cooper-rush-released-by-cowboys-does-not-go-through-waivers/#:~:text=The Dallas Cowboys released QB,on the 53-man roster.
I think he spent a camp with giants when Garrett was OC. Don't think he made the team.

naw I'm a Cowboys fan, not a player or coach fan. You probably were backing Garrett up until they got rid of Coach Prescott. Garrett and dak are the same type of guy. shrugs. no differences.
Again, I don't care who is on the Cowboys. I cheer for them to win. I don't sit there and celebrate our losses like some. I don't wish for a player to be bad. I want the 53 who make the team do good.

Maybe your, for sure others want Cowboys to lose so they can drive their agenda.

I didn't care much for Garrett. But when he was here I wanted him to do good. Unlike some.

100%

Really there is no logic in hoping your Football team does well while hoping the QB sucks... makes no sense.

There have been plenty of sub optimal QBs who have played in Super Bowls. Rush could do it too. Craig Morton was horrendous, and he got there twice.

Not sure anyone has the nerve to admit it, but I’m sure there’s some that are hoping Cooper Rush ends up having to be the starter.

One of the all-time dumbest threads in the history of this board was just last year when someone posted the Cowboys would have won the Super Bowl had they stayed with Cooper Rush. A number of fans liked the post. Can’t locate that thread, but found this one, which is just as ridiculous. As long as fans can hide behind an avatar and username they will continue to post idiocy.
