Traditionally franchise QB’s are temporarily the highest or near the highest paid when they resign their new contract. Recent years that’s included Prescott, Ryan, Wilson and Stafford for example . None which are considered Elite.

Dak and our offense has carried the Cowboys to 3 division titles in 6 years with a below average to bottom tier defense.

I think we owe it to him to see how we fare with a top 10 defense . At least these last two years of his contract. No more success then we move on.

Dak is most certainly going to become the starter as soon as he is healthy.

If Cooper is 4-0 at the time and then Dak comes in and struggles, holds the ball too long, airmails passes, etc. on the way to losses, I don't think Dak has an infinitely long leash. Its probably longer than 2 games but Dak now has some additional pressure on him.

At this point I'm not sure dak could beat Detroit or Chicago not a chance against the rams or eagles

what if the team goes 0-2 ie QB like many games weren't the issues,

issues were,

dropped passes, no one open, bad play calls, missed FGS, far too many penalty's and missed assignments on the OL, OC abandoning the run game and more importantly had bad game plan., Oh and played far better competition.

the W-L record are not on the QB alone,

good or bad we all can go back and know what the issues are truly are. yet those who want to it be the qb on either side will be that persons narrative. its not fact based, mostly rhetoric and hyperbole.

Why would anyone put Rush back in? Rush is doing his job by keeping the team in good position. If Dak struggles, so be it, he's the guy with the big money it's his bus to drive good or bad.
