Dak did not play well vs good teams in 2019. If he plays under the tag, the Cowboys are not bound to him long term.
At what point do you think he would be pulled?
I think that Dalton would get a shot if the Cowboys struggle to a .500 mark after 8 games, or if the Cowboys were to go into a three game losing streak early in the season.
How much leeway do you think McCarthy will give him if he is struggling?

Jerry and Big Mike already have agreed that in all probability Dalton will be replacing Dak just a matter of correct timing here.
These Dak-Trolls think we're going to sit and get beat up by quality teams because Dak can only produce minimal points aka Field Goals or beat up on dog teams.
Good luck with that as the STAR :star:bows for no one including Mr.Prescott!!!!!

If Dak goes into camp on the tag then all bets are off, Dalton will be given a shot to win the job. If Dak gets a long term deal then he is the starter period even if we go 2-14, there is no way the Cowboys would make the kind of investment in Dak that has been talked about and then replace him, it won't happen. But playing on the tag is an entirely different ballgame

Yeah, paying Dak a fully guaranteed $31.4 million tag is not big enough to guarantee Dak is the bonified starter? In what world does this make sense?

Dak just signed a $31.4M deal to play this year but you still think Jerry and McCarthy want to bench Dak? Who do you think you are convincing with this argument? I can tell you it's no one. You are just showing how foolish you are by saying such things. Carry on with your foolishness. :lmao:

If Dak struggles, like he does...MM will pull him in training camp and let that other 3rd stringer Dinucie(sp) dude compete. Andy Dalton will be there as the backup between the mighty Dak and that other QB. Money time...no more I got a job by circumstance.
I love when people think you might be a total moron when it comes to football and then you post stuff like this and remove all doubt.

Defense played poorly. Garrett was still the hc. Can't put all the blame on dak. Clearly his throwing improved significantly.

Here's your solution.

Start Prescott versus Atlanta, Cleveland, Arizona, Cincinnati, New York twice and Washington twice. That's 8 games.

Dalton will do all the heavy lifting starting against Los Angeles, Seattle, Pittsburgh, Minnesota, San Francisco, and Philadelphia twice. That's 8 games.

Prescott will throw for 50 TDs and 5000 yards in 8 games and be league MVP.

Dalton will struggle and go 0-8 and look like the washed up backup that he is.

Dallas will go 8-8 again, but it won't be Prescott's fault.

See how easy that was to resolve. Any more problems don't be afraid to ask.
