Archie was on bad teams in NO....across the board. He almost looked like Fran Tarkenton scrambling out there too. I think he got his credit. And so was Doug Williams during early Tampa Bay days. I don't think Doug got his.
I think Dak makes great plays, at time, is our QB, but hasn't reached the level we're all hoping for, yet….but I think it is generally the opposite on Dak…..32-16 with wins, comebacks, QBR, leader, etc....losses typically placed on the defense, Zeke minimal yardage (with 8 man fronts), Sean Lee out (again), WRs can't get open, etc....and Skip Bayless usually championing the cause for the Daksters. Did we give Dak all the credit for the Rookie season at 13-3?.....the ROY voters did. Zeke was in that mix all along.....eatin'. QB is the glamorous role indeed. See TRomo….stats, slingin' the ball all over the place, bad coaching, and yet bad or heartbreaking results in the end.
On the other hand, Troy Aikman (HOF) often got characterized as being carried by the great teams Jerry and Jimmy put together. Fortunately for him, 3 SBs put him in Canton while his play (accuracy) and leadership was very telling to the success of those teams. Nobody gives Troy mention before Emmitt or Michael Irvin.
