If Dallas loses to Philly on Thanksgiving, then we are all but done for the division

You must not be paying much attention to the tiebreakers. We could miss the playoffs at 11 and 5 dude. It is a real possibility.

The Lions would have a hard time getting to 11-5, even with their weak schedule. The Cards will win the West, and we have the tiebreaker against the Seahawks. Do you really believe the 49ers and Lions will both get to 11-5?

P.S. Calling it now, Seattle won't get to 11-5, there remaining schedule is WAY too hard to make that a possibility. @San Fran, @Philly (west coast team on the east coast in December), @Arizona, and home against 49ers and Rams (who they lost to earlier in the year). Yea, 10-6 at best, far more likely 9-7. The 49ers route to 11-5 isn't that easy either with 4 out of 5 games coming against teams with records of 7-4 or better.

Also real quick, we are playing Philly the second time after a mini-bye week so I wouldn't call that game out of the question either.

There's no question but what we'll be seriously challenged by the games that lie waiting in our path. At least, we've given a proud accounting of ourselves thus far, which is a far cry from where we were right around this time last year. We certainly have that to be thankful for approaching our Thanksgiving Day matchup with Philly.

If Dallas loses to Philly on Thanksgiving day, then we are all but done in the NFC East division race. We would lose the tiebreaker with Philly, the next game with Philly is in their place and we would also drop to 2 and 2 in division games. The odds are that we would have to beat Philly in the rematch, AND win out to ensure we got in.

Correct. They have to sweep the Eagles to win the division.

We're going to have to play better than they did in the first half of the Giant's game, or we are flirting with disaster. Getting out to a strong lead would go a long way next week to maintaining a dominant running attack and clock management. An early score coming off a turnover would be nice.

I'm more worried about special teams. It seems like a lopsided mismatch.

I don't think that is true. They could lose once to the Eagles and still take the division IF the Eagles lose to the Seahawks and the Cowboys win the rest. Still, it would be much easier to win the division by beating the Eagles twice, not to mention easier on my heart.

Edit: Nevermind, I was thinking just making the playoffs, not winning the division. The Eagles would have to lose two of their games in that situation.

We're tied with the Eagles. If we split with them, and they lose another game and we don't, we win the division. They still have Cowboys, Seahawks, Cowboys, Giants, and Commanders left. They can drop two of those and have one of the losses be to a team other than the Cowboys easily.
It's obviously better if we sweep them, though. I'd be happy with just holding serve in Dallas for the time being, where we're healthier, have the better QB, and we don't have to travel on the short week. And you know our coaches have already started on the tape for that upcoming game since we had the bye. Let's just hope Church and Crawford are alright and Scandrick was just suffering from leg cramps.

Such a pessimistic thread. Another way to look at it is if we beat Philly we will hold the tiebreaker and a second win would almost assuredly mean a division winner.

The eagles don't scare me as long as we don't take then for granted. ..which I am pretty sure JG and the vets well not allow

My advise is that you need to find a way to enjoy the season. This is entertainment and you may find it more entertaining if you don't start looking at potential scenarios with a negative mindset. You painted a picture that this every team we are competing against will win every game the rest of the year.

We all want to win Thursday but it's not season over if we don't. Just like it's not payoffs locked if we win.

What a ridiculous statement. If they lose to Philly on Thursday and Philly loses at Seattle then Dallas beats them in Philly they are essentially in the same spot they are in right now. Dallas is undefeated on the road. The only team in the NFL to be undefeated. It's Sanchez for crying out loud. Do you really think a career 50-50 QB is suddenly going to run the table?

i dont care if Sanchez, Vick, McNabb, Foles, whoever plays for them. The Eagles are not that good. And Dallas will show you that on Thursday.

Our defense was definitely exposed in the 1st half this game.

The Giants were successful utilizing things that drives Philly's offense like bubble screens, shovel passes to the RB and working out of the flats period.

We clearly adjusted in the 2nd half not giving up the big plays anymore but the Giants we still able to work out of the flats.

Hopefully we're outright better prepared for this against Philly.

Also ST's is going to have to be rock solid as Philly scored points and gains field position well in that facet.

Their defense allows a lot of yardage like ours but they're one of the best at creating turnovers.

They're a top 10 team and pose a very difficult challenge. They're extremely hard to defend and are terrific at creating turnovers and making substantial contributions on ST's.

However, they do not strive to control the clock and that's the glaring weakness in their unique approach to playing.

Sanchez is also their weakness.

We play our game and don't beat ourselves and we win.

We never allowed a critical turnover today as the fumble was on giving up downs anyways.

Hopefully we're as polished in that regard on Thursday.

The way this season is going I wouldn't be surprised if we lost at home and win at Philly. This year's team plays better on the road.

We win this game, NE takes care of GB and SEA takes care of ARZ and we're the 2nd seed in the conference only on tie breaker with ARZ.
