I'm always on board.. With Romo in particular he just provides this feeling of hope and optimism...

They need to erect a statue of him outside VR for the nonsense he has been playing under..

It doesn't even matter if he comes back because the defense can't stop anyone

I don't see how we have 2 losses to play with..............we are 2-6 and 2 more losses will put us at 8-8...........I don't think 8-8 wins the division, not when the Giants already have 5 wins.

I may be wrong, but I do not think the Cowboys have ever won the East with a record of 500 or below since their inception in 1960. In fact, it has only happened just a couple of times in NFL history that a team wins their division at 500 or worse.

I think we have 1 loss to play with.............9-7 is the absolute worst we can be and still have a shot.

And with NYG at 5-5, and Philly/Wash at 4-5, we are only 2 games out of first... this year is ripe for an 8-8 division win... NYG have the toughest schedule the rest of the way (Opponet Winning %)

I think it's effectively over after the loss today. Which is what I've said all along. I'm not one for mind games.

But that's not what I asked you.

I thought you were one of the wait until mathematically loss people.

I guess you just pick and choose. Got it.

So are we talking about winning the next two games after losing to the Bucs?

Sure, have to get some meaningless wins so that they can fool the old man into believing that 'the process' is working, accomplishing nothing more than screwing up the 2016 Draft along the way.

Romo wore his FIGHT shirt to the game and that's what he will do upon his return. Beating Miami will get it started. Beating the Panthers on turkey day will get everyone that has jumped ship for the season back on board. He can do this. The other teams in the division will do their share of losing so don't give up.

That's why I said 'effectively over.' We're obviously not eliminated, but the probability took a significant hit the last few weeks.

I know the difference between something being unlikely and something being impossible. If you thought otherwise, perhaps it's on you and I'm not picking and choosing at all.

Fair weather fans should not post... if you give up on the team now, why even be a fan? So we can get a better draft pick?
With Romo back, we are good enough to beat ANY team... of the 7 losses, we had the chance to win 6 of those 7 (except Patriot game)... WITH our backup QB, and without DEZ for some of those. We did not get blown out by anyone (except Patriots), and there were 3 or 4 lucky wins by our opponents, and 2 or 3 we gave the game away at the very end... With Romo back, we are an elite team. To think otherwise is to be a fair weather fan. You guys will be right back on the band wagon when we are 5-7 and possibly tied for the division lead with 4 games to go... this comeback is not as out of reach as the pessimists on here would have us believe. Suck it up and think positive. 7 game winning streak with Romo is just as likely as 7 losses without him. Stranger things have happened. I recall an 0-5 team going 11-5 back in the day... stringing 6 or 7 wins together is VERY do-able. Keep the faith.

Romo or not, Carolina is going to eat this team for Thanksgiving. This team is weak, and Romo can't fix that vs the better teams.

What's the point of mocking other fans on the topic of the math re: winning games? If somebody wants to believe their favorite team could potentially turn things around yet this season, why is that any skin of your back? The math says it's possible. The fans understand it's unlikely. If they want to hope for something unlikely, why not just let them?

It's not that we're mocking fans for having hope - at least I'm not. I'm all for that. We're mocking fans who call others "idiots", who call their pessimism "foolishness", who call their reasonable posts "nonsense" and other insults they hurl when people disagree with their Pollyannic perspective.
I know at least one fan in this forum did just that. So he opens himself up to such mocking.

Well, I'd mock somebody for saying such stuff, too. We've been in a hole for weeks, and each loss was another body blow to the chances of turning it around in time.

I didn't think that's what I was responding to, but I admit I hadn't read enough of the back and forth. Maybe he was directing that at a single poster and I just didn't get the reference.

You do realize that Romo is going to take a few games to get back to speed, right? We aren't Fairweather fans. We are realistic fans who actually know the game....

Yea but if NY wins this game, the Cowboys are finished.

I think he also jumped into a conversation I was having with a poster who seem hurt because I disagree with his post. But maybe I'm wrong in my interpretation too.

A fan is like a family member. Just because my brother is unreliable and irresponsible and I point that out doesn't mean he's not my brother.
Just because our team stinks and gives us no hope they can win the division doesn't mean we're any less fans.
Like family members, we hope that the future brings better results than the present - whether it's with our siblings, parents or our team. :)

we cant beat the NO Saints, or the TB bucs.....

we are 2-and 7. Thats reality, Its over.

Predicting we run the table for the rest of the season? May as well go ahead and predict making it to the Super Bowl while youre at it....... Its not based in anything that is related to reality; Its blind faith. blind love.

Youre mind just cant comprehend or accept it.

We arent that good;

I'm usually that positive guy, but this is tough to rebound from.

I would agree that a draft pick doesn't guarantee anything. Especially with the front office. I don't even know where to start with this team, I'm sure they don't either....
