Probably a 3rd.
I can get behind this, depending on the trade. If I am the Cowboys, I am out trying to trade Gallup for something higher than the last pick in the 3rd round.
He will never get $16M/year but as mentioned it involves other variables such as any free agent signings Dallas makes to offset their losses.

I do like Gallup though and would like to keep the WR group together.
I think a little patience should be involved and seeing how the offense performs at the beginning of the season and the D to see if they can be contenders, or not.
If not: try to sell high.
No arguments from this guy. When you are paying a QB 40 million he shouldnt need 3 stud receivers. If Gallup would take 13M I trade Cooper. If he wants more I go with Cooper.
Are you saying he will get more or less? Good article on it that I agree with. I used 16 as a middle number. If Gallup has another 1000 yard season I dont see it being an issue for him.

So we're not trying to win a Superbowl? I don't understand the logic of trading away your number two starting outside receiver because he's entering his last year of his contract, how does taking away a weapon help the offense??
No, he's under contract for this year, you just finished free agency and the draft which focused on the defense if you weren't paying attention, the focus is now on the season, not moving starting players because his contract is up after the season..Basically it comes to finances as Dallas simply can't devote all of their salary cap resources towards offense while constantly ignoring the defense.

That why I said we need patience to see if pulling off that trade would be fruitful. So we're not trying to win a Superbowl? Exactly what's happened before. Let's stick with our guys for 2021.Trade Gallup and then lose Cooper or Lamb, and you'll wish you had Gallup.
A team really needs depth at the WR position.
1) We drafted a guy who could be the one or two who's playing the three. So we're not trying to win a Superbowl? I don't understand the logic of trading away your number two starting outside receiver because he's entering his last year of his contract, how does taking away a weapon help the offense??
