I'd love to see Shanahan, but I seriously doubt he is looking to take a step down.

So what other names are going to come up?

Front runner will be Ray Sherman. If he get's the job, we'll get to hear about how badly Jerry screwed up.

If Garrett stays, we'll get to hear the same. I. Can't. Wait.

Once Garrett leaves Shanahan will be the HC, nevermind OC. You're better off asking who you'd like to be DC. I'll take Shanny and Capers.

Hmm, I expect David Lee would get a sniff.

If Wade would remain HC I would take David Lee in a heartbeat. He knows Romo like the backside of his hand since he's the guy who developed him when he got here.

Shanny isn't coming here.

Honestly, if Jerry really wanted him he would have fired Wade and gone after him.

I like Lee, not sure he is ready for OC duties.

I'd love to see him replace Wade Wilson, but that won't happen.

Me. Too.
I think a coach that can support both Romo and Garrett at the QB coach slot would be a big help. Wonder if we considered it last year?

Al Saunders may soon be available from the Rams. Al knows our offense as well as anyone in the league and has won with it everywhere. He learned under Coryell himself back in the early/mid 80's, then had a hand in some of the better ram offenses BEFORE the Warner years, then of cource the Warner Greatest show on turf years, had GREAT success with Vermeil in Kansas city with a great t.e but pedestrian receiving corp. Then put in a couple years with Gibbs in Washington recently. What I like about Al is he is a no bullschitt guy, demands attention to detail. He also VERY MUCH believes in a heavy use of the running game, setting up play action, all that jazz. I believe he is the best man for the job right now, by a long shot too. See, I have this feeling that the Red headed Genious may be alot better head coach than he is an O.C. So heres the deal........We fire Wade and Stewart, we bring in Capers to run the D, tried to bring him in last offseason as it was, he worked with Garrett down in Miami. Our Current Dline coach, Our linebackers coach, and one of our secondary coached were ALL assistants under Capers before. Thats continuity, CHANGE, with Continuity. We Name Garrett head coach but bring in the proven O.C , Al Saunders, that already knows our offense like the back of his hand and let him run the offensive show . As an added bonus we would now have a VERY veteran, very proven O.C that would have a calming effect on a Young Coach Garrett. There is no substitution for experience. Again, REAL change with continuity. I believe this is FAR AND AWAY our best option moving forward. And furthermore  If you do a little checking into things, SO WILL YOU !.....:)

I am not giving up hope that if Garrett leaves that he does not scrap the continuity idea. A smart general manager would. But Sherman would undoubtedly be cheap as an offensive coordinator (compared to the near head coach money Garrett was pulling in) and that might be what is driving Jones' mind right now.

Now if he did decide to hire Shanahan, my understanding is that he would only be responsible for paying Shanahan what he agrees to and his Broncos contract would have Bowlen making up the difference between the old salary and the new. Is that correct?

......................You have been listening to too many Campbell excuse making Commander fans. Saunders has thrived everywhere he has been. Those same Campbell homers also ran Joe Gibbs out of town. Its Gibbs, Its Saunders, Its Zorn, its always everybody BUT Campbell. Its a joke. The kid has a slow setup and release. Zero to do with Saunders offense.

You do understand I hope that we are already running a version of Saunders timing based Don Coryell offense. Garrett runs a somewhat passhappy version, Saunders would bring back the MEAT of any good offensive attack..........the running game.

Apparently you are simply misinformed. Jason Campbell is better than Tony Romo. Or haven't you heard?

If he does not get a HC job I would like to see Ray Sherman get the job.

For our sakes if this happens I hope he does better than he did in Pittsburgh where Cowher had to take away his playcalling responsibilities. He did not even last a season.
