I bet Jerry and Wade would love Lee, but I doubt the Dolphins would let him out. He's probably in charge of developing Henne. Remember, Parcells blocked Sparano from interviewing for OC of the Saints back when he was OL coach here.

I haven't even looked at all the names out there... Need to do that. The Schottenheimers and Chudzinskis are good coaches, I think, but I'd rather have someone older so maybe Tony would be more inclined to listen to them. Saunders might actually work... As long as we keep it to 2% of the playbook.
...........Saunders would would GREAT in tandem with Garrett as head coach. All this 700 page playbook stuff comes from the Jason Campbell homers in Washington. Never before was it ever a problem. These same fools also ran Joe Gibbs out of town. Wouldnt matter who was running the offensive show in Washington, could be Bill Walsh for that matter. They would run him out for Campbell too. The kid has a strong arm, thats where the positives end with him. Deadly SLOW release, matters not what offense he is in. He has to SEE the reciever open. In the NFL, your a dead duck if thats the case.

Honestly, if Garrett leaves, I would blow up the whole staff, bring in Shanahan and let him pick his staff. I love Dat Nguyen, John Garrett, and some of the other coaches, but no one is going to come in and handle the Offense better.

Front runner will be Ray Sherman. If he get's the job, we'll get to hear about how badly Jerry screwed up.

If Garrett stays, we'll get to hear the same. I. Can't. Wait.
This made me laugh.

...............But dont you think that a staff consisting of Jason Garrett as head coach and Al Saunders as offensive co would almost be the best of all worlds? This way Jason can dedicate his talents to a total team concept, with a big hand in the offense of coarse. He would then have a longtime successful veteran O.C to help him gameplan. An O.C that already is about as well versed in our offense as you can get. This may sound crazy to some, but to me anyway Garrett has the potential to be a young Tom Landry. He has alot of poise.

I would keep Garrett and bring in Dan Henning to help with game planning. Garrett's plays are great but his timing is bad. He needs a game manager type to stablize his ingenuity.

Hennings a good one, but he isnt going anywhere. Different scheme too. He runs the Ray Perkins/BP stuff.

If you offer me Garrett as HC, Saunders as OC, Capers as DC, Mike Solari as OL Coach (w/ Marco Rivera as an Assitant), DeCamillis as the ST Coach, and Dennis Thurman as DB Coach I'll flat out shut up.

Once Garrett leaves Shanahan will be the HC, nevermind OC. You're better off asking who you'd like to be DC. I'll take Shanny and Capers.

Capers is a horrible choice for defensive coordinator. Have you seen his track record with defenses? What has he done that demonstrates that he can coach a first-rate defense?

............I'd take Dennis Thurman in a HEARTBEAT. Btw, there is actually someone else I would prefer over Capers as the new D.C. He MIGHT be available shortly too. I'd love to have ROB Ryan come in and take over this defense. He can bring Millard with him too for that matter. Some may think im crazy for suggesting him, but if he had THIS kind of talent to work with....WOW! Plus he would bring a certain FIRE and urgency to this defense. We wouldnt go down due to lack of HEART.

Ryan is well versed in the 4-3, 46, and 3-4. Has learned under the tutelege of his Brother Rex, the old man Buddy, AND Belichik up in New England. Not a bad pedigree if you ask me. AND he has that FIRE about him jut like Pops.

Hayseed, how do you figure we'd get Ryan? Is Oakland getting rid of him? I thought Cryptkeeper Davis loved him.

......Oh its not a sure thing by any stretch. Thats why I said he MAY come available. The cryptkeeper from what I hear anyway is looking to get rid of their interim head coach and hire a new one. That new head coach may very well want to have the authority to name his own D.C . In THAT case then Ryan would come available.

He plays plenty of man defense, which is suited for our corners.

I wouldn't mind Son of Air Coryell at all. Mix in a bit of that Princeton magic and I'll take it.

Shanny isn't coming here.

Honestly, if Jerry really wanted him he would have fired Wade and gone after him.

This also leads to the question...With all the uncertainty surrounding the HC what OC in their right mind would come here for a lame duck coach, IMO, for one year. Whoever is hired next year will bring his own OC, IMO, and then they are 1 and done. This is why it wil most definately be a hire from within 'cause who else would come? Sad, but I think true.
