 You want Dak to take a hit to the head so Tony can come in?

NO.

However, if Dak should get hurt, and it happens in the NFL, my hope is that Tony saves the day.

Some posters say I'm a Dak lover, some say I'm a Romo lover. They are both right.

This is absurd. I don't desire injury on our toughest rivals, yet some want our own team's starter to get hurt. SMH.

If Dak leads us to the Super Bowl, he deserves to make history as the first rookie to win it. People flippantly saying Dak will win his own rings in subsequent years confuse me. You never know what happens the next season. Look at the Broncos. Look at Dan Marino. What if this were Dak's one shot?

If I could write the end for Tony, he retires after this year getting a ring from the bench, and earns many more coaching for this team.
We can't waste the season hoping for Tony to rescue us. When Tony started I thought he would be playing in many SBs and it didn't happen. Nobody knows the future. If Dak gets the chance to win or play in a SB, he has to take it. And we all should be supportive of him.

Romo has done a lot and his stats in comparison to some of the all time greats are up there.
He's not a generational talent like Peyton Manning. He was always looked at by everyone outside of cowboy nation as the 6th or 7th best QB, and once as a top 3.

And that's about were he ranked during most of his time as a starter. And it's not a disrespect for him. He went undrafted and became the franchise QB of America's Team. I actually think he's a better QB than Eli but Eli did have those 2 magical years and that's the difference.

"Dak gets a hard hit on the head, a penalty on the Patriot defense, but Dak instantly goes into concussion protocol."

This has got to be one of the most despicable comments I have ever had the displeasure of reading in the Zone.

I'm not going to be disrespectful to the Romo crowd because I was apart of the Danny White crowd. The one thing I had to learn was that football owes us nothing. It owes no player one thing. If you want something, you have so much time to go and get it.

If it takes too much time, you either lose it, become injury prone, or moved for the younger player. Over the years, some of the best Quarterback's have literally lost their jobs to younger talent. Look at Montana, look at Favre, and others throughout history.

All Romo had to do was get to the NFC championship and the Super Bowl. You get no respect if you don't make the trip. That's the life of the NFL. You get paid a lot of money to do a job, if you can't do it, you're out.

Look at it this way, Clove.

Danny White was that guy that was tagged with trying to extend a dynasty that had seen better days. He did that.

Tony Romo was that guy that was tagged with trying to re-ignite a dynasty from days gone past. He did that.

Both had their roles, served their terms of service with faith and honor. And when it was time, rode into the sunset.

We should honor them.

I mean, you ARE right. It's a cruel, ugly, debauched world. And we can't find the time to think about anything else, but what is right in front of us.

But I'll choose to honor them. Its my choice. I would hope others can find the time as well.

If not, then so be it.

That's fair, but your OP is worded oddly...

Let's just replace possible concussion with leg cramps. :)

I like the story though.

We win the Super Bowl this year with Dak at the helm. Next year Romo is moved to Denver. Dallas vs Denver Super Bowl, where Romo throws a pick six to Sean Lee to end the game. I love me some Romo, but hey we win two rings in a row here and he has some success with another team.

Perfect ending

A lot of you are uncomfortable with this fantasy because it requires Dak getting hurt.
I'm uncomfortable with it because it relies on Witten getting yards after the catch. :D

No joke. Some of the lingering Romo hope around here is disturbing.
No joke some of the Dak put this team at 12-2 is a little disturbing. Take Zeke out and put McFadden in and this team is 7-7. Our Oline and Zeke(who should be MVP) is what has us at 12-2. Dak has played extremely well but Tony is the superior QB.

I will add that I do not think that this team dies quietly in the playoffs. If Dak is having another Giants game I do believe he will get pulled for Tony. Now, his game would have to be very bad like the Giants game...If that occurs I believe we see Romo to try to pull it out. Fire away...
Question....do some of you who are diehard Romo fans felt he should have been pulled when he had games as bad or worst than what Dak had? I'm just curious. Or, did you think....just a bad game..he'll bounce back?

Agreed and this team will not go down with the ship. If Dak is having another Giant meltdown going 3 for 13 and 62 yards at the half you can bet it all on Romo coming off the bench. There are no hurt feelings here to get pulled. It's the playoffs and everyone needs to be held accountable. When decision time comes and I hope it doesn't but if it does Dak will be riding the pine...I have no doubts about that. You do not let a guy stay in with a Qbr of 43 when it's one and done, not with Romo sitting on the bench. It would be foolish to do anything else.
