The San Antonio Spurs say hi! I disagree...if Romo...can not perform any better than he did at the end of regulation or OT...then he needs to SIT! I guess you also believe that you run DeMarco Murray until his feet bleed...and if he runs out of gas in week 12....oh well...next man up! It would be one thing if Weeden had gone into the game...and wet the bed...but the offense functioned at a much higher rate with Weeden than Romo on Monday night. Does that mean Weeden is better for this team than Romo? Of course not! But Romo at 50% is not better than Weeden!

Then we do not disagree. When I said "ready to go" he has to go out and perform. I'm not saying if he can make it through the tunnel to the field then he should play. As for Murray he had 18 carries this past weekend, no I'm not overly concerned that Dallas is using their star RB. Murray does not seem to be concerned about it and coaches are monitoring him, to say he could run out of gas and be tired at the end of the season we don't know that either but coaches are with him through out the week and get a good sense on how Murray is feeling.

Back to Romo we get a lot of speculation based on nothing more than hunches by those who are not there, if this is nothing more than a deep bruise in the back and he has mobility and feels he is ready then damn right I play him. I have ruptured kidneys, spleen and a whole host of other uneducated guesses around here when fact is none of you know what the problem Romo has. Guessing is not a fricken fact. I don't think I have seen this many Doctors in one place since my visit to the hospital.

For Romo or any player on the team if they medically check out and can go then they play. This is the NFL few around the league are 100% if a player can go then he plays

You want the gimpy Romo that played in the SF 49ers game or the Romo that played in the Seattle Game......Bottom line the Cowboys need a healthy Romo for the late season push.....another way of looking at is....Would you rather have Brandon Weeden playing QB with the playoffs on the line or Tony Romo....

Its a no brainer... this AZ game is not worth the risk......

If he is gimpy aka restricted in his movement and ability to make throws then of course I do not expect him to play. Now if it is what they have said a deep bruise and he has good mobility and can make the throws then yes I expect him to play. Bottom line dallas like every team needs to go out and win if you expect to even be in the playoffs. Blowing off games as if well this one is no big deal? BS 16 game they are all big fricken deals. If he is hurt and can't go then don't play but this is NFL not pee wee football.

Whatever Romo's medical issues are, Arizona cares not, and will repeatedly crash into that back all game long.

If Romo can go, then play him against the Cardinals. This is a must win game.

Then, I would sit him against the Jags and give him a full two weeks off to heal until the Giants game.

IMO the Cowboys are not good enough to choose how they win games. If Romo is healthy enough to play then he should play.

They will try to bring him down I doubt they will be looking to hit him in one area when Romo has the ability to escape and hurt then down field. Washington was not going for the back, Romo tried to duck down and just got a knee in the back

So your willing to risk the retirement of a 100million dollar player, put the Cowboys into Salary Cap hell, a chance to go to the playoffs just to WIN one freaking game...AZ is not that important. The risk out ways the rewards at this point....If the playoff are on the line then, yes. Plus I think Brandon Weeden will do fine....and even better unless Romo is 100%.

Sometimes you have to save the player from himself..... you speak volumes today...but.if Romo goes out and gets hurt.. what will you say in December......when it counts...Heck the Cowboys could win the game in AZ or they could lose the game....and still re-injury the back.....you don't mess with back issues.....it takes time to heal....nothing else.

Bed rest and time is a back injuries best friend. If you don't take care of the back injury it will take care of you....it will shut Romo down at some point...question is ...will it be sooner or later

No based on the injury being a deep bruise and not speculating about things that are not facts is what I am going by. If Romo is lacking his mobility and having trouble throwing then of course I would not play him. However right now you guys are guessing about an injury you know nothing about and acting as if your own guess is fact and it is not. If Romo can't go I have faith in Weeden as well to come in and do the job. According to Romo and the team this injury has nothing to do with his back injury he suffered that is a wild guess on your part and the part of many, stop acting like that is a fact that is a serious back injury or at least back it up with fact.

Not if the coaches use some screens or some play action sometimes!

If I'm getting one on one with no safety help I will take some chance with Dez on some go routs. You don't need to throw it 40 to 50 down field just get him matched up 1 on 1 and let him go get it. Main thing I saw this past game that I did not like where too many deeper outs and crossing routs that take too long to run when Tony did not have the time

This is not a must win game! I would rather sit Romo until New York week 12(after bye). If we lose to Ari and beat Jacksonville, we are 7-3.

It's not a "must win" game but it is important the Cowboys are able to bounce back after Monday Nights loss or the season could start taking a bad turn. This game could have wildcard implications at the end of the season and the winner is going to own the tie breaker. The Cowboys 2 losses this season have come at home and they don't need to lose another home game. If you don't have some sort of advantage playing at home then a home playoff game isn't going to help you. The Cowboys are around 500 in the new stadium that has to change.

I agree heck this could be more than just getting a wild card it could be the difference of sitting with a bye on wild card weekend or being forced to play the extra playoff game. Like you I do not see this as must win, too me must win is you lose and the season is pretty much over but this is a big game. Also a game to regain confidence and to bounce back after a disappointing loss

But that's me. Weeden can beat the Jags and Romo can rest. It has a dual affect. Rest Romo and give Weeden snaps with the ones for a full game.

I haven't had a chance to catch-up on all the responses yet. But I totally agree with your idea. Play him and then don't even put him on the plane trip. If Dallas can't beat the Jags with Weeden, they aren't as good as I think they are. Tell Romo to stay home, relax and get better.

If I were going to play Romo in one of the two games, it would be in the Jax game. The kicker there is the travel. If Romo's back really is bothering him, a long flight to England will not help that.

totally agree about the flight. I would try to play him this week. No doubt, after the game he will be more sore.
Tell him that he stays home, has two weeks to rest. And lets see what happens.

Two things:

1. Good thing you are not the coach. My head hurts enough with Garrett.
2. It's most certainly not a must win game.

I would hope that Cowboys fly to London Monday or Tuesday after the Arz game not just for Romo but the team in general to be able to deal with any Jet lag

I would not play him at all. I would rest him up until the Giants, after the buy.

Is this one of them "spot light" games. Not an "elimination game" or a "win or go home game".

All games are "must win games". lol

No...this game is important because these are the kind of games that will help build team unity for the long stretch. I think the team is up for this game, especially the defense more so than the offense. If Romo does not play, I think the team has a chance with Weeden, but the defense has to wake up to what they were doing before last game.

Don't get ***** slapped again, and let the offense do their thing. I'm counting on the defense this game.

This game could certainly have wildcard implications at the end of the season with both the Cards and Cowboys in a battle within their division. The Cards are up by 2 games in the NFC West over SF and Seattle and at least one of those 3 teams is going to get a wildcard birth. The Cowboys have already lost to SF so if they end with the same record as SF the Niners will win the tie breaker.

The Cowboys and Philly are likely to duel it out all season for the division so these interconference games vs contenders are important because you could end up on the outside looking in with a 9-7 or 10-6 record come playoff time if you don't win your division and lose tie breakers.
