I have been listening to NFL on Sirius all day and nobody has been talking about it. I would like to know if we are entitled to anything. Has anyone heard, or know for a fact what the rule states?

I know this has been posted in many Ireland threads, but it continues to get overlooked as people just fight over who brought Ireland here and who he reported to...

We're not New England - we'll get nothing. Only if Parcells has stolen Pioli would there be compensation.

They said on Galloway's show that they wouldn't demand compensation since Huezinga (sp?) let Garrett come to Dallas last year.

All this talk about compensation is meaningless chatter. The NFL did away with such arrangements a few years ago.

NFL nixes draft picks for coaches/front office personnel

The league's new policy is not restricted to head coaches. It prevents draft picks from being used to sign anyone under contract with another team, including assistants, front-office personnel or scouts.

Sorry, but any talks about compensation appear to be wishful/hopeful thinking.

I can't remember where I heard this, but two drafts ago, Jerry overrode one of the first day draft picks, when he had received advice the night before from longtime friend and still adviser, Larry Lacewell. Didn't I hear that he was on the sidelines at TC this year conversing with Jones?

Jones said he could have insisted that Ireland remain with Dallas until after the draft in April. But Jones said he was grateful to Huizenga for allowing Jason Garrett to go from the Dolphins' coaching staff to the Cowboys a year ago without compensation.
