Kind of like you saying your done with this organization if he stays? That's what happens when you get too close, your emotions cloud your decision making.
If a fast food franchise had an employee making several million dollars a year with a 50 page employment contract, it would take more than two days.

Why are other franchises are moving quicker? They're not fast food restaurants either. The most likely scenario is that its going to be several weeks until the new HC finishes the playoffs and "official" talks begin with them. There will be four billion threads like this until then.
The first meeting was the normal end of season meeting, the second was probably transition issues and details about coaches that are likely to stay. This isn't a fast food franchise guys.
Yep.
If he's being made a front office executive, there is no reason to not announce it now. If he's being let go, there's no reason to not announce it now. There is no secrecy in the NFL. By keeping this thing close to his vest, Jerry isn't play coy or about to pull a fast one over on the league.
Usually the simplest answer is the right one with Dallas. Jerry can't quit Jason. Garrett was his handpicked wunderkid coach and they invested nearly a decade in him (Jerry's words) and they just can't admit/understand it just didn't work out. I suspect they are still figuring out a way that they can bring Jason back and sell it to the fanbase. There is really no logical reason to just keep playing this shell game at this point.

And the Cowboys lead every segment on every channel. The most likely scenario is that its going to be several weeks until the new HC finishes the playoffs and "official" talks begin with them. There will be four billion threads like this until then.

I could never follow another team...it's not about the sport. I don't really watch any other games other than the 'Boys unless there are implications that benefit the Cowboys. College, nope. Started following A&M this year because my son started attending there, but only watched a couple of games. That's about it. The only reason I watch the Cowboys, it's more of a family tradition. I grew up watching the games with dad and it continues to this day. Go over and watch the 'Boys with him on game day, sometimes pick him up and he comes over to my house. He's 86 years old and an avid fan. Once he's gone, don't know if I'll continue watching in his honor, or if I'll give it all up. In either case, if I give up on the Cowboys, then I'm probably done with football. To those of you thinking of handing in your fan cards, what teams would you guys follow? Or would you guys just stop watching football completely? Or would you just watch football, but not have a favorite team in mind?

I could never follow another team but I'd still watch football but wouldn't spend money or go out my way to sit in front of my tv to watch the Cowboys. My family goes to a Cowboys game yearly but I've already told my son that if JG is the coach then we won't be going next year.I could never follow another team...it's not about the sport. How do you know he doesn't already have a deal in place? He has no obligation to announce it to you.Poor Jerry has created a public and massive cluster F for himself. He’s been so exposed with the failure of his Carrot experiment that he has no choice but to make a significant change and hire a real coach. But he also wants to retain total control. So how does he do both ? He’s buying time and dancing with the Carrot situation while he tries to find some daylight for his real problem. Garrett is a prop and sideshow. A professional GM without 5 billion dollars and a drinking problem would do what the Skjns and. Giants did: Fire the bad coach and go get a better one.
Could be a lot of reasons. The HCs like Kitchens had contracts in place that likely had termination clauses that outlined exactly what happens if the HC gets fired. With Garrett his contract runs out in two weeks so among other reasons, there is no reason to do anything but let the two weeks pass until he is no longer an employee.
That's not stopping the announcement that he won't be here next year.
What is the reason for 2 meetings? If you were going to fire him he would've already done it. I think that he's having these meetings to let the fans know before hand that there's a possibility he's just floating the concept that he"ll be coming back. Why even let him have exit meetings when he's not coming back next year? Why have a second meeting with no decision?
If JG comes back then I'm through with this organization (financially and following) until he's gone.
This would be the biggest middle finger to the fans period.
