That means we wasted the top draft pick from the last 3 drafts essentially, assuming we let Amari
Cooper walk (which is very likely now).

2017: Taco Charlton
2018: Leighton Vander-Esch
2019: Amari Cooper

Factor in who we drafted after the 1st round, and it’s starting to look like a crippling series of draft classes. Chidobe Awuzie, Conor Williams, Trysten Hill, etc.

Our drafting trajectory is headed towards early to mid-2000’s...not good.
Dude seriously

We went from a stacked roster with a bunch of key players on rookie deals at the start of 2017, to a roster full of holes, progress blockers, and overpaid talent.

It’s starting to feel like the 2010-2013 rebuild seasons are around the corner again..Dominant O-line getting old and injured, Zeke looks like a shell of himself, Dez fell off, Witten is horrible, etc etc.

Combined with the fact that no talent is being developed on the defensive side of the ball. Demarcus Lawrence is the best playmaker we’ve had for the last 4 seasons? Wow.

I wonder if our next coach is going to need 9 years for his process to work?

Did you have conversations with the Cowboys medical staff, coaches and Jerry that would make you wonder for even a second LVE's career is over? Also Cooper has been fighting through injuries the 2nd half of the season. I'll bet you're the first one to start yelling the sky is falling the first time a cloud shows up in the sky.

Yeah it would be a shame if his career had to end all of a sudden me but in his rookie year and a pro bowl invitation at that, you saw why we drafted in first round
I have no qualms or regrets about his retirement uf it comes down to it.
Hes shown he was a playmaker that we could have built this defense around if healthy and surrounded with quality players and coaches.

He's already had two neck injuries in the past 4 years going back to his college days...

I know he said they are working on designing him new pads, however, if it was that simple all those other guys who have had to retire from the NFL because they had spinal stenosis would have been having new pads designed for them as well.

It’s amazing people on this forum liken stenosis for a LB with other injuries from other players.. LVE is essentially done. This isn’t Glass Joe Sean Lee with hamstrung issuers. This is a deterioration in the vertebrae which leads to plenty of unforeseen complications including pinched nerves. It’s the SPINAL CORD we are talking about here..

I'm tired of the Cowboys giddiness with drafting guys with injury histories or other baggage.
Get ready for our new linebacker Dylan Moses from Alabama coming off a acl in summer camp. ;-) If he declares for the draft.
