If McFadden drops to #22, Dallas should take Chris Johnson

I think that Chris Johnson would fit better than McFadden in Dallas. Marion Barber is a viciously tough runner, and Chris Johnson clearly is the change of pace back that would complement him. McFadden is a better pure running back than Chris Johnson, however, with the 4.24 forty time, Chris does a presnap shift to slot reciever, and suddenly, opposing defenses have to contend with a deion sanders speed at WR. I'll admit, Chris Johnson does not have any blocking capability to speak of, but with his versatility, has a slight edge over McFadden.

Besides, he's not dropping to #22 anyway, who are we kidding? Chris Johnson is a bargain at #22.

So McF is a "better pure running back than Chris Johnson" but we should draft CJ if we have a chance at either of them? Rather than spending a 1st rd pick on a back up why not draft the best rb who can be the featured back? Just because we have MBIII why should we try to draft somebody who is inferior to him? We don't know how long we will have him. You don't ever draft a player just to back up a particular player when you are not certain that player will be with you for a long time. With everything being equal, you have to alway draft the better player who can make the greater contribution regardless of who the other player at that position is. Just mho.

I've had the nauseous feeling that Jerry truly is enamored with DMac and will get him BY Any Means Necessary. That worries me.

I can see the picture already. Jerry in a suit and DMac in a wedding dress on the front page of SI.
:D i agree, good post

McFadden is not falling to 22. Johnson may fall in the draft but McFadden hands down is a better RB and a playmaker. If Dallas were to have the option of either back they would be foolish to pass on McFadden. I was talking with John McClain and according to many scouts he has talked with had McFadden been eligiable to come out last year many of the scouts had him rated higher than Peterson. I know many will disagree with that but it does not change the view that many pro scouts have on McFadden

That shoud say, "Mediots do not rate Chris Johnson above mid to late round 2."

Johnson will be a first round pick.

He'll only be a first round pick if some silly GM falls in love with his speed and reaches for him. Other than that, he should be a 2nd round pick. If Ray Rice is graded as a 2nd rounder, Johnson should be as well.

People are saying he'd be a bargain at 22 now? That's just ridiculous. Everyone is in love with themselves over his speed, failing to realize that speed can be negated at the next level. Just ask Reggie Bush.

McFadden falling to 22? Get real. Not even a Spitzer-type melt down complete with admissions of paying prostitutes would drop him past the top 5. Although, drug use before the draft would plummet his stock, maybe.

I haven't seen any evidence from his college games that CJ is a first round draft pick. Great speed, does not consistently break tackles, cannot block.

He's half a back.

The thought of him at #22 makes my head hurt . . . :banghead:

If McFadden drops to #22 will will have the new record time for the quickest ever card selection to the commish. We will use about 25 secs of the 10 minutes.

Our card would already be waiting for the commish when he finishes announcing pick #21. Jones would most likely be delivering it himself, doing the potty dance with a big grin on his face.

this thread sucks

No, the responses/posts that suck are ones that criticize the substance of a premise without laying out a counterpoint.

Not only is it rude but also arrogant.

I might have to revive my "Don't like the Schitick? Don't read it, Blutto!" quote

I like the kid, but not THAT much. He has some question marks to his game that may or may not be changable. The 22nd pick is VERY high with a draft deep at RB.

A few things:
  • There is no way he falls to 22
  • There is no way we will ever find out - something will be in play before we get out of top 12 picks
AND... even if he were there at #22 YOU DONT PASS HIM UP

Silly thread.

1. If we drafted Chris Johnson in the first round I'd hurt many people.

2. If DMAC were available and we drafted Chris Johnson, I promise you this, I'd kidnap Jerry Jones and torture him for weeks.
:lmao2: Need a driver? LOL

For some people, scouting must be extremely easy.

Oh, I wonder who had the fastest 40 time at the Combine this year. Let me see...Chris Johnson? Who? I mean...LET'S DRAFT HIM NOW!!!!!1111111

When Jerry skipped over Moss back in the day, I thought about ending my life (just for a split second), if he skips over DMac, he'll need the US Armed forces to protect him.

Imagin, Snoopy (doing his Snoopy dance) and the head of the Grinch with that big old evil smile on and that's the scene of Jerry bum rushing the commish with the card at pick 22.
