Garrett is taking much deserved heat, who would you replace him with?
He's a good motivator, but I feel he lacks the strong personality to get in his coordinator's face and challenge them to up there game. I can't see him getting after Linehan and Marrinelli, questioning Jones, for that matter. That being said, who is available that would provide an upgrade?
Gruden, Saban, any thoughts?

I think there guys who would be upgrades out there.

But talk of replacing him at this point is silly. He deserves another year. But a missed playoff appearance or early flame out again in the postseason? He should definitely be on the hot seat.

I disagree that the heat is "much deserved", and he's not going anywhere.

Gruden has become the new Cowher and Dungy, who were the new Jimmy. None of those guys left a cushy TV gig and neither will Gruden. Unlike Vermiel, all 4 of those guys already have a ring. They have no unfulfilled goal to drive them to go from working part time to living at the team facilities, again.

How many good HC's would accept Jerry's interference?

Not so sure about the great motivator part. Team came out flat, confused and shell shocked yesterday.

Garrett ain't going anywhere.

But I agree with you about him not directing his coordinators. We are supposed to be a run first, grind it out team, yet he lets Linehan air it out on every 3rd and short? Unacceptable.

Yeah JG isn't going anywhere and I love it. I could not be happier. His message is resonating with this team. As long as he has complete buy in, he's the perfect coach for this young core. Having your rookie led team go toe to toe with an all time great is a great measuring stick.

He's also going to get a well deserved COY trophy.

Garrett is a mediocre gameday coach. His "coaching" improved when he essentially delegated most of his gameday responsibilities to Linehan and Marinelli. His teams always seem to be prone to time management issues and odd bouts of self-sabotage and overly cute play calling.

The other side of the coin, however, is that he has put together strong teams in 2014 and 2016. Him and Stephen seem to have put an end to the days of big trades that go bust and burning cap space on expiring veterans that Jerry crippled the team with in his attempts to make a big splash. His teams don't quit and go down swinging no matter how bad the odds are. If they can add a couple of defensive playmakers, or even just raise the overall quality of the defensive roster, this team is built to destroy everyone.

Basically he's gets an A for 6 days of the week and a C for gameday. It's not ideal, but it's also hard to find a guy who is truly better overall. The NFL coaching landscape is actually pretty dire outside of maybe 4 guys.

Right? There is this huge myth around JG regarding how hard the guys do or do not play. They come out flat just as much as any other team.
