If Not Linehan, Then Whom?

Not likely.

The only chance at improving at the QB position is through coaching lot scheme.

Our cards have been dealt.

Then we need to get a QB coach who can fix him

Because imo the opportunities are there and have been most of the season

We're just missing a lot of them. Probably Gallup alone has been missed 7-10 times this year for big plays where he beat his man and either wasn't seen or was the victim of a terrible throw

Okay, I think the one thing this forum agrees on is Linehan’s time here as OC has run its course.

Presuming he gets the boot, who takes his place?

Lincoln Riley is a name a lot of folks mentioned but he signed an extension with OU.

Many of the potential names have already signed with other teams.

Who is out there that would be a viable replacement that would move this offense forward?
Need a fresh approach to the game plan and play calling. The scheme can be tweaked with some formations, motion and plays that exploit the strengths of the Cowboys personnel. I would look inward first.

OMFG you guys have short memorys BILLC wasn't agreat placaller either, hes great Oline coach, period..we already have enough mediocre play callers here now, we need some fresh meat, hungry driven creative newb..If Kingsbury can make a HC in the NFL or at least given the title , we can go grab just about any OC from a College program that has dynamic offense regardless sof records or who the flipping HC is, go grab a guy and say heres the ingredients go create me Recipe book..

I don’t know if this has been said but what about the OC from the Bucs. Didn’t they have one of the top offenses this year? Or their HC. I believe he was OC before.

My grandmother. She would at least know not to run into a loaded box on 4th and 1.

Not sure about OC, and if they would bring in their own QB coach. But Dak is going to be our QB moving forward - and I'm actually OK with that.
But.
He needs a teacher, foot work, anticipation, timing etc. I'm not saying Norv Turner, but someone of that ilk.
If Kubiak would take that role, make Dak his project as a QB coach. I would be all for that...

Give Gary Kubiak a blank check

I think it depends on your philosophy on Dak. If you think Dak is terrible then I’d say Linehan did an outstanding job. If you are a Dak is good and being held back by the play calling then I wouldn’t expect drastic changes from a new OC. The OC still has to work with what’s here and Dallas doesn’t have the spread it out and let it rip kind of personell.

With the Monty and Rod connection I do wonder if Lane Kiffin is a remote possibility. I think he is better suited for college, personally.
