If Not Linehan, Then Whom?

Okay, I think the one thing this forum agrees on is Linehan’s time here as OC has run its course.

Presuming he gets the boot, who takes his place?

Lincoln Riley is a name a lot of folks mentioned but he signed an extension with OU.

Many of the potential names have already signed with other teams.

Who is out there that would be a viable replacement that would move this offense forward?

Maybe we just need a qb wisperer.. If a real qb coach could come in here and get Dak to throw just 3 less bad passes per game, we could win an extra 50 to 70% of our games.

His mechanics are off, he has happy feet. His arm strength is adequate enough, he just needs to improve his timing and accuracy.. They need to let him run more often when the first down is there for the taking, at least 2-3 times a game..

I’d still draft another qb if there is one, or bring in a legit vet..

We could just keep Lineham and feed him lunch, heck we could just collect coaches it won’t matter..

We either have to conitue to improve Dak, or replace him...

I've scoured the list of available coaches who can build a potent scoring machine around a guy with poor footwork, bad mechanics, big time accuracy issues beyond 10 yards, and poor downfield field vision.

Unfortunately I'm coming up empty

So forgive the honest question but is there a QB out there who can take better advantage of all the open receivers we had running around on the field last night?

Not likely.

The only chance at improving at the QB position is through coaching lot scheme.

Our cards have been dealt.

They need somebody that won't keep trying something that's not working. Should have put the game on Dak's shoulders after falling behind last night. I think he was up to it.

Obviously Swinney’s star is shining bright now, and though it probably will be in a couple of years, we don’t know that. In any case, I obviously could be wrong, but my guess is Swinney likes coaching college kids and would be histant to jump to coaching a bunch of prima donnas. Plus, if he is still doing well at Clemson at that time he can make similar money and have much more job security if he stays put.
plus you might want to look into Dabos asst before him, his DC is being paid ridiculous money to stay and not go anywhere else but from what ive heard and seen, hes the key to that team but why not go grab the OC from Clemson and make him our OC? or a great program with agood OC mind anywhere in college that runs an offense that Dak can blossom in..its not always the HC that makes these teams its the assistants why did Saban fail in the nfl left fast..

I'd like to get someone with a WCO background. Someone from Fat Andy's coaching tree.
I think Dak, Zeke and Cooper would thrive in a WCO based system.

Garrett will never bring in someone who is innovative and will show these weapons can work who would challenge him

Needs to be someone who can bring in his own QB coach. The Linehan/Moore experiment is done. Hopefully Boise State offers Moore a position on their staff
