My issue with the "what if Cooper gets hot" talk is, in his 2 starts...which he is 2-0, his numbers have been mid

Sub 62% passing completion, 95.5 passer rating on Sunday...92.2 against the Vikings last year

Not bad numbers, but also very much back up QB numbers

And Sunday was very much a tale of 2 halves. Once Cincy got a feel for what we wanted to do...offense was shut down

Now if Dak struggles after returning, then we can have a conversation

Offense hardly had the ball in the 2nd half, the opening drive they moved the ball into Cinn territory but Schultz fumble ended the drive ending the drive but was at least FG range with what was a 1st down pick up before the fumble. With game on the line Rush was able to move the team down field and into range to win it. No doubt the starting QB of this team is Dak and the job of a backup is to keep his team afloat until the starter returns. Rush has done that and hopefully will continue to do so

Dak cant throw a football 5 feet.

Do we keep the hot hand, or do we here the normal from Jerry "Dak is our guy, I want to make that clear!" One of the reasons I feel why we've never had a DECENT backup is because Jerry wanted to rid any QB controversy taking place!

At this point it's all about getting wins, please give me your thoughts..
He’s gonna do a lot better than what he did against Cincinnati

If you call the exact same game plan with Prescott behind center. He puts a 30 points

No matter how well the Cowboys do - even being undefeated during his absence - Prescott will become the starting quarterback as soon as he is cleared to practice.

Yeah.. maybe 40.. I honestly have no explanation for why we want to go all Mountain West with Dak under center.. Go SEC and win the damn games.

Personally you have rush play the next 2 games and if he wins you keep playing him. Rush will have his struggles and that's when you bring Dak back in if he's physically ready and throwing the ball well. If Rush has 2 bad games against div opponents then you just start Dak vs the Rams anyway.

He’s done great so far, but that being said it will ultimately hurt us. Still believe we are better with Grier! Oh well…

Prescott gets his job back and Cooper goes back as backup and we don’t see another Lombardi as usual

absolutely nothing has changed long term

I am more and more thinking of the irony if what happened to Romo happens to Dak; get injured and the new guy gets real hot.

Now of course Rush is not performing anywhere near that level but it is something to consider if he keeps getting better.

Now how long Dak is going to be out is up in the air; Dr Jerry says 2 weeks; pretty much everyone else says at least 4.

IF we are 4-0 in that stretch and Rush continues to improve, it will be interesting.

I'd would ride the Cooper wave and not "Rush" Dak back from his injury. If Cooper starts to slump, bring Dak in of the bench.
