I'm missing where a 34 year old player in a new system, playing a new position, on the opposite side of the field form his normal slot, is a guaranteed improvement even if he is a better athlete.
Because the position change is not nearly dramatic as you are making it out to be.
Its not like Taylor hasn't played at a pro bowl level as a WOLB. Its not like the WOLB NEVER covers a reciever, tight end or rb. Its not like Taylor is converting for the first time from DE - you know like the lesser athlete Ellis did 2 years ago pretty much without a hitch.
Taylor is a dramatically more gifted athlete making what is not at all an impossible switch to make with all of the Mini and Traning camps to go and with a premier coach 3-4 defensive coach in Wade to help him. To think a guy the level of Jason Taylor is going to walk out on the field so befuddled that he becomes Bobby Carpenter is absurd.
