If the Chargers beat us, Jerry might be forced to start Lance

There's only one way I see Trey Lance potentially playing this season and that's if the Cowboys are near the end of the season and have been mathematically eliminated from the playoffs with several games to go in the regular season. And even then Dak still might finish out the season or Cooper Rush would have a better chance at finishing out the season over Trey Lance.

Dak will probably start unless we are out of the playoffs or he gets injured.

I know Lance has to get familiar with our system, but remember, this guy has already been in the league for 3 seasons. It's not like he was just drafted this past April.
All this is true. But he is green as spring grass. No one know what happened in SF but he obviously didn't progress as expected and SF clearly didn't think he would. When they had a chance to cut bait and still get a draft pick for him they did. He needs a full off season, training camp and preseason to possibly be ready for 2024. With luck, he will connect the dots and be ready to go. We need a QB of the future.

I hear you but I have no confidence in Dak. I think Dak will continue to play well against lesser opponents but when the playoffs roll around, if we make them, Dak will just self destruct anyway. If we are going to lose anyway, why not evaluate the roster all while seeing what Trey can do. He might be worse than Dak but I feel like we have no shot with Dak.

After that disaster by the hands of SF, this team looks shell shocked and you can see it starting to fall off the rails. It’s not there yet, but a loss to LA and this season will begin going up in smoke. This is a must win and an important get right game. A loss here and even worse, if Dak doesn’t perform then Jerry might have no choice but start Lance. The chants have already started on here and it won’t be long before others begin joining in. A loss here would torpedo this season for good.

Jerry Jones is not a deity. Demon? Maybe. Devil? He sold his soul so scratch that. Little Nicky? Bingo!
Ha. He's the Emperor...so a demi-god?

Lance is a long-term project, he's "not ready for prime time" in any way, shape or form.

Might see him in some late game blowouts but that's about it.

Maybe in 2025...

Even better. His failure would be a ...necessary loss. Either way, they don't give away top 5 picks for free. Top 3 is sometimes too high. You gotta crash out. 1-15 or bust lol.

I wouldn't be so sure. There are many roads to inevitability. As long as we get there.
I suppose but not sure it will be like benching Bledsoe for Romo. Quite a different investment for Dak. I think it will be tough for the Jones boys to see that sitting on the bench. They did the same thing for Zeke, grossly overpaid and made sure he played and was drowned with carries until they cut ties in the offseason. Could see the same thing playing out unless Dak is just so bad he can't beat the Giants anymore.

Yeah the dude has not played a full season since 2019 in college. Face it the 49ers took a big chance with him, it didnt pay off and they were able to dump him elsewhere (to us). The dude is nothing more then a back up QB at best. If the 49ers let him go after what they paid for him you know he dosen't have it.
Face it we have 3 back up QB's playing for this team. Removing Dak and inserting Lance will give us nothing more then what we have now. All it will do is roll 27 years of not sniffing the Super Bowl into 30 plus years and we will be having this same conversation in about 5-6 years
