If the Cowboys let Murray leave, I'd think AD has to be on the way

Don't get me wrong, it could, potentially, but how does anyone know? What if 2013 was his last good season? How much do you pay a 30-year-old RB and for how many years?

thats the risk you take i guess. you can't expect a huge move without any risk at all. the herschel walker trade was huge. you think there wasn't any risk involved with that? we just made out on the good side of the coin this time with it. vikings not so much.

So when does AD start to break down in this scenario? 40?

Maybe he breaks down this year or maybe he breaks down at 33 who knows? I don't think the Cowboys want to keep him long term anyway they just want to rent him for 2-3 years.

I'm headed to the liquor store right now to find out

Alright just got back quite entertaining...I was wearing a scuba tee and a guy tells me the story about the biggest catfish caught in Italy and gets in a noodling reference..not sure how scuba, catfish, and noodling are related but his eyes were bloodhshot...so back to the confirmation..as I am checking out I asked the owner if he could confirm AP will in fact be a cowboy by the end of the month...he proceeded to look at me with a very strange mid eastern stare and said "who"...I said you know Adrian Peterson the guy in the news this past year...same stare..."sorry never heard of him" ....so there ya have it!

Even IF Adrian Peterson was released by Minnesota - that is surely gonna trigger a bidding war for his services. Dallas just opted to sit out the bidding for Demarco Murray... so now we're to believe they will engage in the almost-certain-to-be-over-priced bidding for an aging Peterson?

I think it's pretty obvious Dallas has a handle on what they perceive as their budget for RB. And neither of these guys fall within the designated parameters of that budget.

I look forward to the day the 'Peterson to Dallas' rumors die the death they so richly deserve.

I think everything you said is accurate, with one exception: If he were released, by the time that happens, a LOT of teams that would have been interested in his services have already moved on to other running backs. So the Philly's, the Indy's wouldn't be interested. Obviously, Jacksonville and Oakland probably would be, but I'd honestly be surprised to see a 30-year-old Peterson sign on for a rebuilding project somewhere.

Stephen will make him a good offer,it all comes down to whether he wants to play in Dallas.

Him being 30 doesn't mean anything to me... Fred Jackson is 33.... He out played cj Spiller same team same line... AP is by far best back in last 10 years...

Maybe so. I guess I'm just not seeing where a sun-setting great like Peterson would be willing to take the dubious 'hometown discount.' Am I just being cynical?

Trent Richardson was just released. We can show the world that anyone can run behind our line with him :)
