CowboysZone maintains a very large membership. One cannot logically assume that a consensus can be orchestrated by a rival fan; especially if that particular rival is a Commanders fan attempting to do so on a Cowboys message board.Califan007;3204745 said:I didn't mean "everyone" literally lol...I meant it as a consensus. I also meant it as "since nobody on this thread thinks the Cowboys will lose so talk of a coaching change is irrelevant, that means sticking with Wade if the 'Boys win is good in quote-unquote "everyone's" eyes as well"...

Quite frankly, there will be very few who will actually care enough to answer or even read the question posed. Instead, what you are searching for (and receiving) is an opinion sampling. The responses that you are getting may or may not be accurate enough in determining what the actual widespread opinion within cowboyszone is concerning Wade Phillips' immediate future.
My opinion is that he will be retained and logic does not have anything to do with it. After years of observing Jerry Jones' actions and reactions, my gut tells me Jones will not release him. Granted, my gut has been wrong before. It told me that a Commanders fan would not be so bold as to pose such a question as yours following Washington's 2009 season. It was wrong.
Stupid gut.

How hard was that?

Actually, he was seeking a consensus. That is unattainable. What is the inherent logic in desiring something which you already know cannot be achieved?AsylumGuido;3205094 said:Actually, it is relevant. He stated that he wanted to know what your thoughts were prior to knowing the outcome of the game. Clearly, many would answer differently after suffering the sting of yet another loss.
BrAinPaiNt;3205058 said:Want and Deserve...two different things IMO.
I think if we lose and it is a competitive close game...
Deserve- I think he stays and probably does deserve to stay.
Want - I would rather someone else be the coach. I would love to him to stay on as DC only but I just don't see that ever happening. I like Wade, think he is great with the Defense, think he is a genuine good individual. But I just don't know if he can continue here effectively with the way the media and fans are if he loses another playoff game. That's harsh but I think there is some truth in that.

Do not speak of things which you have zero knowledge of.AsylumGuido;3205122 said:Your "want" is what I would be wanting if I were a Cowboys' fan. The turnaround in the defense ever since Wade took over those duties is remarkable. But, with a loss I can't see him remaining at the helm. Ideally, Wade remaining as DC with whomever at HC would seem logical, but I can't see that as ever happening. Naming a coordinator before the head coach is even beyond Jerry Jones. Daniel Snyder, on the other hand ...

And this Saint fan that just showed up...he's in for a real surprise. His team's legacy will go back to normal after the 1st round of the playoffs.

He could be trolling or he may not be aware of what he is asking. Of course, that's really the same thing.5Stars;3205125 said:It's called "trolling".

Discussion? Please. He wants to know what Cowboys fans will decide before Saturday's game. If he wanted discussion, he would have asked us how long it would take Snyder to run off another coach.AsylumGuido;3205129 said:I got that he was simply looking for discussion. Consensus, as you point out, should even be an option.
