You are foolishly naive if you think there would have been "no doubts" about a Dallas championship. If the Cowboys had won a championship this year, people just like you in other forums with obsessive hatred and jealousy of the Cowboys would talk about how they really lost to Detroit, how the fix was in, salary cap violations, etc.

I spent that week arguing with people just like you who said Dallas did not deserve to advance past Detroit. They said things like "the game was fixed." "The league favors the Cowboys" and other such nonsense. You'll never admit it, but you sound just like those people do, whining about a victory that some team earned fair and square.

The fact that you don't realize how many people talk about the Cowboys the same way you talk about the Patriots shows a great deal of ignorance and naïveté.

Absolutely. Even tho it was all nonsense from all those other fans/ listening to it and having to interact with people about it took some of the enjoyment away. Primarily because the officials actually did the right thing and it was something beyond the Cowboys control and something they had nothing to do with. On the other hand, the Pats were caught cheating, their own doing and something they controlled, and clearly suspected of cheating again so the tainting of their accomplishments is merited and deserved. I do not think the Wells Report is all that interested in punishment. It may contain some recommendations, but I am expecting it to mostly focus on facts and let the league decide the consequences.

The reason why it is taking so long is because it has gone far beyond what the Patriots did or, more more likely, didn't do. One NFL employee has already been fired for stealing game used footballs. The Colts GM has publicly stated that he informed the league office of his concerns prior to the game, so I am sure Wells is very interested on whom he voiced those concerns to and what that person subsequently did. It is ridiculously obvious that the NFL gameball-handling procedures are extremely lax, and no one cared until someone accused the Patriots of doing something they likely didn't do. (Certainly no one gave 2 turds when the Vikings were caught red handed tampering with footballs.... that's because people arent obsessively jealous of the Vikings the way they are of the Patriots).

Not to mention that if they released the report too quickly, all the usual idiots would complain that the league rushed through the whole thing and just wanted to sweep it under the rug.
