Is it a real possibility they go back to romo for the lions game? I could see it happening, especially with jerrys comments lately.

If Prescott continues to struggle reading coverage, have poor footwork, and the ensuing terrible accuracy I would be surprised if Romo didn't get a shot to do better.

Hopefully, Dak is able to improve but midseason with mechanical issues that can be difficult.

Its possible, the Tampa Bay D defense has made some offenses look silly and elementary over the last month or so.

I think it just gets harder. Its no longer just wins and losses, now the problems will be whats wrong with Dak, has the offense been figured out, can Linehan and Garrett adjust?

I think so. Especially looking ahead to the final 2 games vs. Detroit and @ Philly. Detroit's defense is nothing to scoff at and Philly is up and down, but play well at home (plus it could be a very cold weather game)

Dak needs to show some bounce back in this game

This has been hashed out for awhile now, but I will play again. If Dak struggles again at home in a dome, chances are that he will struggle in the playoffs. Do you let him continue through the post-season struggling? Is it fair to his teammates to go through his growing pains in this miraculous season? It is not like we just squeaked in at 10-6 in a slightly above average season and a win would be nice but not expected.

You don't go in as the #1(or #2) seed with a QB who may have hit that wall and/or the offense figured out. The Tampa game will tell us a lot of what is to come. Play well and still lose, Dak stays. Play well and we win, Dak stays. Play bad whether we win or lose........it should be Romo time.

With that said, I expect that he will turn it around. Get back to basics, use Witten and Bease more with lots of running.......from Zeke, DMAC and Dak himself. This is the perfect game to silence his doubters. I would like to see improved mechanics and quicker reads :flagwave:

this is a game where they say "ok we are now planning and playing to win it all, we play this good against the Bucs we got into the playoffs leaner and meaner. " I can accept that after a loss like this.

If it turns into a loss, than you make some rough decisions and you dont care what the fan base wants. Lets be honest, they havent for 20 plus years, whats one more.

If Dez doesn't fumble, there's a good chance they would have got some things rolling on that last drive. Dak has a knack for coming on late. But the fumble prevented that chance. Could have been a completely different story without the fumble.

If Dak has another bad game and we lose again, there is a possibility the Cowboys could go back to Romo. Another bad game by Dak and the team would mean the wheels are coming off and a change might be necessary to try and salvage the season. A loss on Sunday Night would have us in a tailspin. If the Cowboys are going to play Romo to try and turn things around, they would have to play him against Detroit to give him a couple of games to try and work off some of the rust and sharpen his game. With all the time Romo has missed, it would be a desperate move to go back to him but it could happen with another bad game by Dak. They certainly weren't going to pull him when he was playing great and the team was winning but that could change after Sunday if things don't go well.

Give Zeke 40 touches and we will easily win this game. Enough is enough. Makes me sick how we don't get him involved in the passing game. He should be getting minimum 30 carries a game and at least 10 targets

Couldnt agree more.... Special seasons should not be wasted with pitch counts or running counts whatever... Win the game and move on...

I hate to say it but zeke can spend 10years here and what if the team nose dives and we never see another season even close to this one....

But oh lord thank the heavens we saved zeke for his 11th year with no super bowls

We have to get our passing game going if we're going to advance in the playoffs. You can't just bang Zeke all night, we have to get Dak back on track or this season will end up like the 07 season. Zeke had over a hundred yards last week but we still lost because our passing game is flaming out.

Yes Zeke had over a hundred yards and we didn't not give him the ball in the second half... If we continue to give him carries in the 3rd and 4th quarter, we win easily.

Getting Dak on track all starts with the run game. Once they stack the box with 9 players things will open up...

We have the best offensive player in the league. It is time to take advantage of it

How many times do we need this thread?

The answer is the same every time, it depends. Is it just him or is it still almost the entire offense? And what is considered struggling?

To me bud it starts and ends with the qb. If he's playing well and in a groove the whole offense will follow. He struggles the offense will tank.

That's what the offseason is for. His mechanics aren't terrible, he just needs to form better throwing habits.

Wentz on the other hand...his throwing motion needs some serious work.

The running game has been solid all season but the past few weeks our passing game has begun to fizzle. We've been committing a lot of penalties that have helped put us behind the chains leading too many long down situations. Dak is beginning to struggle facing too many 3rd and long situations. Last week he was getting happy feet and started looking rattled for the first time all season. Teams have either started figuring him out or he's hit a wall. If the Cowboys are going to finish the season strong and go deep in the playoffs they have to get their passing game back on track. Pounding Zeke 25+ carries isn't going to get it done, to score enough points you need an efficient passing game.

We were averaging just over 27 points a game when Dak was playing his best football but he's come back to earth. He hasn't passed for more than 195 yards the past three games, his efficiency has gone down and his turnovers have increased. We've only scored 22 points the past two games and that's due to our passing game flaming out. It's critical that Dak gets back on track against Tampa or we'll be riding a two game losing streak and this magical season we've had is going to come crashing down. We've got to pass the ball better to get back to being the team we were.
