Am I the only one who thinks this is a moot issue because The boys are going to win tomorrow night?

Is it a real possibility they go back to romo for the lions game? I could see it happening, especially with jerrys comments lately.
Who knows what they'll do, but they should stick with the rookie. Going back to Romo is asking for another year of failure.

I want the boys to win, but the manner in which they win will indicate things to come, if Dak comes back strong and effective in the passing game , and offense starts eliminating self inflicted wounds , that will bode well for playoffs.

If he continues to be a bit hesitant , confused and has a poor passing game , time for Seeing whats left in Romo's tank .

This is literally the test for Dak, its the closest thing to simulating a playoff game as possible.

We are at home where all our playoff games will be if we win 2/3
We are playing against a playoff caliber team with a playoff caliber defense
For homefield and possibly the division title, its a must win game just like a playoff game is

Its literally is a pseudo playoff game and this will tell us if Dak can compete at this level or not........if he struggles and we lose, might be a sign to go with Romo

Yes Zeke had over a hundred yards and we didn't not give him the ball in the second half... If we continue to give him carries in the 3rd and 4th quarter, we win easily.

Getting Dak on track all starts with the run game. Once they stack the box with 9 players things will open up...

We have the best offensive player in the league. It is time to take advantage of it
We do, all the others keep getting moved to the QB zone, where all threads go to die. Lol

That's what the offseason is for. His mechanics aren't terrible, he just needs to form better throwing habits.

Wentz on the other hand...his throwing motion needs some serious work.

100% endorse this. Remember, the PLAN going into this season certainly was NOT to have this rookie starting. In a perfect world Dak is working with coaches all this season tweaking his throwing mechanics and getting coached up to have the back up role while Tony is leading this team to another 12-4 record.

That's not what happened. Like the Eagles with Carson Wentz, we've ended up putting a rookie out there. The difference is - and I don't care how the truth makes some people feel, the truth isn't mean, it's the truth - Dak has far better offensive line in front of him, one of the best rushing attacks behind him and 1 of the best receiving corps in the league. This certainly makes it EASIER for the Dallas coaches to hide Dak's flaws and shield him from DC's and defenses trying to exploit those flaws. The fact this worked brilliantly for 11 of 13 games is a testament to Dak's own awareness of his situation and the job the coaches have done with him.

Moon was a gifted passing QB playing out a run and shoot and could throw the ball. McNabb was know to throw duds, but he played in a West Coast with TO and could throw the deep ball, though his accuracy at times was questionable.

I'm not sure of either comparison is valid.

Nobody is limiting him I think. His limitations as a rookie are apparent, but you have to, in this league, be primarily a pocket passer.

McNabb was winning playoff games with scrubs long before TO arrived.

You can be a pocket passer and a mobile QB in the same game if the situation calls for it.

what would help Dak is Butler or whitehead getting open downfield and CATCHING the ball.
williams hasnt been bad, beasley i dont know how often they try and get him downfield. maybe they should
we have to get teams out of the box or make them pay

If we struggle because of Dak? Or because of our running game (Zeke 2nd half vs Giants), OL pass protection poor last few games, recievers not getting separation (Dez too), etc. Romo hasn't played in a game with full contact in awhile (practice qb's don't get hit).

The running game wasn't working in the second half because they were bringing a safety down at the snap putting 8 sometime 9 in the box on 1st n 2nd down. Dak needs to make them pay for bringing that safety down he has to attack that 1 on 1 on the outside. Problem is Garrett n Linehan don't have the confidence in him to tell him to attach it. Dak needs to grow some balls n change the play n do it himself. They are just waiting for him to show some confidence. But he's not showing any n that is why he is regressing.

And despite that defensive strategy, Linehan, the seasoned veteran play caller, didn't call one single first down play action pass.

Watch the all 22 and the LB and safety movement on the snap, and explain why no one thought to call a play action pass. Ball handling and fakes seem like strengths of Dak, how about we use them?

If the O struggles against Tampa, Romo needs to inserted in the Tampa game. Personally, I am not sure JG will ever put Romo back in, he needs a built in excuse if the December collapse happens. At times he appears to coach like he's trying to keep his job instead of putting these offensive players in a position to be successful each week. The best weapons on the offensive side of the ball are the offensive line, Elliot, Witton, Beasley, Forget about Dez, he should be told by the coaches if he can't get his head in the game, run better routes and get open he will not see the ball thrown his way...and any more performances like last week, bench Dez, he's paid like a top 5 WR, performs more like WR2 or WR3. And it seems when this offense struggles it's because the QB tries too hard to make Dez part of the offense, Dez needs to make himself part of the offense by playing well.

More like asking for the best chance at a sb

No chance at a SB with Dak in there not with these vanilla game plans last few weeks anyway. Other teams watched how they stopped the running game in the second half. They saw that Dak did not change the play and attach the 1on 1 on the outside and that Linehan didn't call for a big shot down field or run any play action. EVERYBODY n I mean everybody will do this to us until Dak takes more shots vertically down field on 1st n 2nd down.

Romo isn't wired to win a Super Bowl. He's an undrafted overachiever that's beat up now. Our best chance going forward is with the rookie.
