I would say that Matt Jones is healthier than Terry Glenn. I would say that he's younger than Terry Glenn. And I would say that I in no way want to count on Terry Glenn.
I do. Why settle for OK, when there's the potential to do better? And before someone pulls out Crayton/Jones stats, I would state that I think Matt Jones could do as good and better than what Crayton did given the single coverage he received and the systems that each played in. Again, my opinion.
You're entitled to your opinion, and you've probably got more folks who share it than I do who agree with me. That's OK.
I think Matt Jones is a guy who could help this team.

I've heard that it will be easier for the Bengals to trade him after June 1st, I don't know if that's true or not. Besides, you guys can't have Roy Williams because the Eagles are going to get him : P. He's a better fit for our offense and younger.
iceberg;2063825 said:sure matt is younger and healthier. that doesn't mean he's better or ready to assume a #2 role. and "potential" is just that. if after what, 3-4 years in the league, you're "potential" is pretty much out and results better be kicking in.
It's the timing of that bad catch that has some people steamed.iceberg;2063800 said:otherwise crayton is a proven #3 wr who people will never forgive for 1 missed catch it would seem. forgetting all the clutch catches he made is easy. forgetting 1 bad one is not. so i don't put jones above crayton just yet.

IMO, if Crayton would play to the level of his mouth the WR situation wouldn't be nearly the issue it seems to be right now. This is assuming that Glenn won't be healthy for an entire season (more than possible) and that the remaining WRs on the roster now show nothing more than last year (pretty unknown at this point).
My hope is that Stanback is going to be as good as the staff seems to think he will. Hurd and Austin may prove expendable at some point.

What are you going to do?YoMick;2063615 said:then IMO its a year too late.
We need someone NOW... TO isnt getting any younger and the whole advantage of a Roy Williams type would be to allow each of those guys to at worst alternate being double coverage.
I hope Jerry makes this move THIS year... somehow...

Call Matt Millen and tell him to trade Roy to us or else?
YoMick;2064439 said:For Hostile... I will do it!
Isnt Roy is gone after next season - Millen gets nothing then, right?
If thats the case then give him some picks.
Prediction, before the end of Training Camp the trade rumors by the media everywhere are going again.big dog cowboy;2064344 said:What are you going to do?

Valor;2064462 said:What makes you think they'd be more inclined to trade him this summer as opposed to last week? If they wanted to get the most out of Dallas, they would have done it before the draft. As far as I can tell, they weren't even interested in the 22nd pick, let alone the 28th. And if things hold to form in 2008, our pick next April will be nowhere near 22. For whatever reason, Millen ain't selling. Maybe they plan to tag Williams in some way.
