No you’re haters because for the 1 billionth time a hater is someone like you who almost ALWAYS *****es and complains and mostly about Dak. It’s ok to criticize a player, coach, etc. but to DO NOTHING but rag on Dak is a friken hater.
And all you do is rag on Dak critics. Not sure what’s worse. Both are chronic whiners. Haters and Homers.

I posed this in another thread but thought it would be an interesting topic here, if all posters can really be honest with their answers.

First off, I am going to say Prescott is a more polarizing player than Romo was and I could see fans of the team actually pulling against their own team to try and get rid of him.

It is an oddity but it is there, many just don't want him to be the DC QB. The question is enough to pull against him and the team?

I gotta say, if I disliked him at QB as much as some here do, and evidently that is not exclusive to the Zone, I might be tempted to pull for a QB crash and burn.

And I am not going to ask if not him, then whom because those that really dislike Prescott do not care, I really do believe they have arrived at "anyone but him".

I am also not going to say if they go that route they are not good fans. Plenty of fans have pulled for their teams to get worse in order to get better.

So, my question is mainly to those that do not like him. If he does not get a new contract, can you pull for him and the team knowing he will get another one and most likely larger than the extension he might have gotten?

Oh, I know, the Joneses intend on extending him but they intended on getting him on a new contract before they had to do that 160M one. He's bet on himself before and won.
expand...Hopefully like this....what are the Cowboys asking Prescott to prove?? Till they can get an option whom can challenge Prescott in training camp....Dak has the leverage

If Dak has a great season and goes deep into the post-season or reaches the Super Bowl, he deserves a big new contract.

If the 2023 season ends just like the last two seasons or worse, then I think the Cowboys need to focus on finding their next quarterback and not being locked into a huge contract at that position would make that much easier.

It is the off-season. People are going to talk about the positions that concern them.

With quarterback being the most important position of course people are going to create threads about it.

You do not have to read every one of the Dak threads nor do you have to post in them.

You choose to do that, so that's on you.
No, I don’t read most of them. It’s the same thing over and over that’s why I inquired.

Exactly! See the difference? You Dak haters do nothing but rag on a player. I rag on the you for that. Not the same equivalence.

My dream scenario and one that will produce at least 2 Superbowls in the next 7 years.
Tank 0-17 to have the # 1 pick in the draft.
Draft your new Troy Aikman.
Prescott's Purgatory must end ASAP!!!!
ENOUGH ALREADY!
Yes, let’s think.Tank that’s such such a good demeanor in the locker room. There’s no such thing as a guaranteed Super Bowl even if you got a number one draft pick in the best quarterback in draft. This mentality is just a nowhere getting

And therein lies the problem some of us have with Dak... he was paid top dollar without first having earned it. He wouldn't have as many detractors if he had taken the team far into the playoffs, like the NFCCG at a minimum, before demanding top dollar. But that isn't how it went down.

But I know, there are other QB's in the league who didn't earn it any more than Dak did.
And there is the problem, do you think it’s a one-man team? Having some of the best statistics don’t win Super Bowls, but it does get you paid. Because it proves the problem is elsewhere.

NOT COMPLAINING so please don’t delete but are the mods on some kind of directive to come up with ingenious ways to create Dak threads?
No and I complain about so many Prescott threads but this topic intrigued me because of the polarization of the player and not just here on the Zone. Seems it's pretty much across the board.

Teams do not usually bring challengers in for the QB to compete for the starting job. The Cowboys would not even let Romo compete for his old job back.

Dak is decent but he’s not worth 40 million that’s the issue if you put back his 40 million for roster moves and started Cooper rush you’d have a better team overall even though Dak is absolutely better than Rush. It’s the salary that is the true ssue.

I'll watch the games and follow the season. I've learned to temper my expectations over the decades understanding that the NFL is a thriving entertainment model. Money is the prime directive and motivator. So whatchagonna do??

They are under the cap right now, where are those players?

People assume his salary is keeping them from adding quality players. What about those 8 teams that pay their QB more than Prescott, how do they do it?

Yeah, Winning has a weird way of eliminating Football "Hierarchy" as Romo so eloquently stated.
