I'll say this... only the DUMBEST fans in the world would root against their favorite team under ANY circumstances. Who does that??
They aren’t dumb. They are agenda driven.

They don’t believe Dak is the guy and want to be right . And believe the sooner we begin looking for another QB the sooner we will be on a brighter path to a championship .

Unfortunately they are short sighted as there are no guarantees we can draft a better QB and ultimately we’ll need our dynamic duo Jethro and Son to build around them.

This is probably our best window trying to build around Prescott. And while the NFC is down. Unless we were going to go after a Rodgers , etc who could impact now . But with Dak under contract we certainly couldn’t afford another big QB cap hit.

We have to ride this out. We’ve made our bed with this QB. For better or worse .

This team happens to be very good. The D could be stout. I don’t really see a situation where they come away with a top tier pick enough to replace the QB. There’s a time and place to hope for a new signal caller but this situation is beyond that. This is a legit window finally opening. Right now is definitely not the time to root for worse to get better! No step back will guarantee a step forward.

Dang that Dak-crush of yours has come home......BIG TIME!!!!!
Do you want to ride out Dak's Purgatory well real Cowboy fans who put the STAR above all(including your man-crush) are sick and tired of his shortcomings!!!
Carrying a bum QB takes its toll on a team and this coming season you will have the locker room first and foremost lash out against inept Prescott......Bet on it!!!
BOOO BOOOO BOOOO BOOOs will return soonest at ATT stadium!!!

Honestly, I wouldn't really change my experience much. I would be cheering on the Cowboys and hoping we win the Super Bowl.

I should note that I liked Romo, and I like Dak. I hoped Romo would do well, and I would naturally like Dak to do well. This would remain the same this season as it does every year.

Basically what you are saying is you stick with your Toyota Prius because there are no guarantees you can upgrade to anything better. You have the money to upgrade, but you stick with the Prius out of fear you might end up in a worse spot.

You used to use the same logic trying to justify why Jerry should retain Garrett, right? Keep Garrett because you could end up with something worse is what you used to say if I remember correctly. What did that logic do for us? They ended up wasting 10 years banging their heads against a brick wall

Depends how the season goes. If the season goes well then I'll go all in but if the Cowboys struggle and Dak's a big reason for that then all bets are off. And the Cowboys do usually play better when expectations are lower. We'll see.

So, my question is mainly to those that do not like him. If he does not get a new contract, can you pull for him and the team knowing he will get another one and most likely larger than the extension he might have gotten?
All That Spin and Projection just to ask this one question

Geez

What is success? . . . Is it reaching The NFC Championship. . . Is it a Super Bowl Appearance? . . . A Super bowl Win?

The answer will vary by many but this is my Idea of Success Dak balling out and putting the team on His Back and being the reason we win the game.

If this team carries Him to the Super Bowl in a ridiculously weak NFC then no Dak should not be rewarded

If this team is in the Super Bowl and Dak lays an Egg and cracks under the Pressure, Then no Dak does not get rewarded

But if this defense is being picked apart all game and Dak fights through it and makes the Game winning play with :30 seconds remaining then Yes he gets rewarded

If Dak jumps on the team and keeps His foot on their throat until the End and wins a Blowout then Yes He gets Rewarded

Not for nothing but there are no guarantees Dak finishes out the year as the Starter . . . Anything could happen

(I believe if Dak takes significant preseason snaps this year that it will be very telling)

This is actually the last talking point they can cling to at this point

Plenty do that when they talk about tanking to get up the draft ladder, the plan is to get better by getting worse.

I don't evaluate fans and being dumb or smart has nothing top do with it. Some dislike this player so much they're willing to have a bad season to get rid of him or at least cause the brain trust to get operational on his successor.

i do not consider them the dumbest fans but they are the most frustrated fans because it is more the QB's game than at any time and they have one they do not believe in and some dislike for their own reasons.

How about we win a championship this year then trade him . Lol

How many picks could we get for SB MVP?
This post shows some of the core belief of this type of fan.

Even a Super Bowl MVP wouldn’t be enough.

There are other non-football factors at work with a portion of our fandom, but that’s always been the case.

That’s because it’s more important for some fans to be right than to win.

And that’s assuming everyone here is a Cowboys fan.

I’m not sure who you think Dak needs to prove it too? You don’t think our ownership and coaching staff are sold on him ?

Are or you simply referring to his critics who are waiting on us to win or at least play for a championship. They probably still won’t give him any credit and say trade him while he has more value.
One thing different about the Cowboys, they are owned by the Media Maven, who follows anything about him and his team very closely. Those Prescott debates get his attention, those picks in the last game got his attention and leading the league while missing 5 games is not Star material. He has to have some doubts.

The question is have the Joneses had that discussion? We could do worse. And after all, he is the most commercially exposed QB in the NFL and the MotY. He is still marketable.

No, they wasted 10 years with Booger trying to prove something, he could train a HC. And this HC made him so comfortable, he actually said it.

You're denying that you defended Garrett?

Everyone knows you did.

My dream scenario and one that will produce at least 2 Superbowls in the next 7 years.
Tank 0-17 to have the # 1 pick in the draft.
Draft your new Troy Aikman.
Prescott's Purgatory must end ASAP!!!!
ENOUGH ALREADY!
Your dream is just a dream.

Guess who is the last #1 overall QB to win two super bowls for the team that drafted them?

  • Aikman

There are only three other QBs to ever do it

  • Elway
  • Plunkett
  • Bradshaw

And only one other to win even a single Super Bowl for the team that drafted them.

  • Peyton

You’re one of those fans that think Elite quarterbacks are easy to find.

Yep

Unfortunately I think it ultimately comes down to the “ relative and interesting “ which Dak provides plus the marketability you refer to.

But Jethro is influenced by the media and public wave and how Romo was unseated. I think someone would need to be in place. I don’t think that person is currently on the roster. Plus the next scapegoat is most likely to be McCarthy.

Maybe it would depend if the next HC would be on board with Prescott. Remember MM was.

Scratch that - Plunkett didn’t win any for the team that drafted him (New England)

is this the same as when garrett the loser was here? we all loved the garrett and his robotic voice. I'm not sure why he's gone. "A coach can't win it all by himself, it's a team sport. "
LOL, why can't we blame the offensive coordinator, the defense, the refs, the offensive line, and Jerry.

why oh why did we try to get better, we should have just stuck with garrett, a couple more centuries and drafted better players to carry him and we could have won a conference championship one day.

"Who are we going to get when we get rid of garrett" wipes tears from my eyes.

Stupid fans
