If they can keep only 1, who do you choose - Irving or DLaw?

As rare as it is to find a elite DE pass rusher it may even be more rare to find a guy like Irving who can rush the passer at DT.

I'll take Irving.

When you factor in injury history and everything else I think it's Irving > Lawrence.

You better sign both though.

Catch, that's why I made this post - the FO has shown me NOTHING that gives me confidence they would sign both.

I pick Irving because he's more versatile. FIRE AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry to derail this thread but I think they damn well better find a way to keep 'em both. I feel the continued success of our defense to get sacks and pressure depends greatly upon retaining both of them. We have only recently managed to escape the bonds of hopelessness in terms of our pass rush. Allowing our best defensive linemen to leave would be a sad commentary upon this team's resolve to maintain its defensive strength. (jmho)

Dez needs to give back some money too.

Dez had 4 100 yard games last year including postseason...he's got 0 so far this season.

This week would be a good time for him to step up in that area.

I'm a Dez fan but we don't use him enough or in the right way to validate his pay.

If Romo was still here then im sure he would be earning every penny but with Dak he doesn't get Dez involved enough in this offense because he runs the play as scripted a lot and our plays are pretty horrible if everything isn't perfect.

I would let go Dez, you don't need to pay a WR in excess of $10M if he can't beat elite when is necessary.

If have to choose Irving. As someone said above really need to find a way to keep both.

This team normally spends most of it's FA money on players that are already on the team as opposed to binging in High Priced FAs from other teams.

Good catch -- I couldn't agree more with such a policy in this instance.

Allowing either of them to depart would seem an unforgivable travesty.

THIS!!!!! I believe a good OC (and HC of course) would realize Dez's deficiencies at this point (lack of deep speed, not a great route runner, etc...) and use him where he's best - using his physicality and after-the-catch run skills. He should be running a LOT more slants, drags, hitches, screens, etc. If they used him like that and had Beasley running the same, it would effectively open up TWill and Butler (the 2 most reliable deep threats) deep. But, I only coach youth football, so I don't know anything.
